Leta Koutsochera

Leta Koutsocheira was born in Ziria, Achaia. She studied interior architecture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, and also studied design, scenography, and painting in Athens. She has held solo and group painting exhibitions, created book illustrations and covers, and designed sets for theatrical productions. She has written poetry, theater, and essays. Her literary debut was in 1978. Her poetry has been translated into ten languages, and her work has been presented in various locations in Greece and abroad. Additionally, her work has been featured in anthologies, collective editions, art reviews, newspapers, magazines, radio, and television. She has been awarded by the "Stegi Grammaton kai Technon" (Panhellenic Competition of the Ministry of Culture), "Unesco" (International Literary Competition), "Parnassos" (Panhellenic Poetry Competition), and the Academy for the Promotion of Culture based in Rome "Accademia Internazionale de Propaganda Culturale" (First Prize for Unpublished Poetry), among other cultural institutions. From 1981 to 2001, she taught at the "School of Graphic and Artistic Studies" at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She is a member of the "Society of Greek Writers," the "International Writers and Artists Association," the "Organization for the Promotion and Internationalization of the Greek Language," and other organizations.
