
Caryl Férey
Caryl Férey was born in Caen in 1967 and is an author, traveler, and screenwriter. He is recognized as one of the greatest representatives of French crime and noir fiction with his books "Haka" and "Utu," which focus on the Maori (Sang d'Encre Award 2005, Michel Lebrun Award 2005, and SNCF du Polar Crime Novel Award 2005). His success peaked with "Zulu" (2008), which received particularly significant awards (Grand Prix for Crime Fiction 2008, Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle 2008, Noir Novel Award at the Quais du Polar International Festival 2009, Noir Novel Award from the Bibliobs site of the "Nouvel Observateur" magazine 2009, Grand Prix for French Noir Novel at the Beaune International Festival 2009, Critics' Prize for Mystery Novel 2009, and Jean Amila Meckert Award 2009).
