Eirini P. Vekri

Eirini P. Vekri, daughter of Panagiotis and Vasiliki Lavda-Troubouni, was born in Mytilene. Her roots trace back to Ayvalik, Plomari, and Smyrna. She is married to Paraskevas Vekris from Amorgos and has one daughter, two sons, and two granddaughters. She studied in the USA, specializing in Production Engineering and Information Systems, and worked in the field of Informatics for a few years in America and many more here in the Navy. She frequently participates in literary competitions and has received distinctions. In 2016, she was recognized by the Center for the Study and Promotion of Asia Minor Culture of the Municipality of Nea Ionia, Attica (KEMIPO), and three times by the "Women's Literary Society" in the categories "Unforgettable Homelands of Asia Minor Hellenism" and "Xenophobia-Diversity," among others. She has published the novels "Ourania - A Thousand Waves Away," "Delos, 88 BC," and "The Man Who Made Kydonies Bloom." She has also contributed to collective publications - short story collections.
