Antonis Antoniadis

Antonis Antoniadis, born on May 25, 1946, in Petrochori Xanthi, is one of the greatest Greek football scorers. His career began with the team "Aspida Xanthi," where he made a remarkable impression. Panathinaikos acquired him in 1968. Wearing the Panathinaikos jersey, he became the top scorer of the championship five times. He was part of the legendary 1971 team that competed in the European Cup final against Ajax. Antonis Antoniadis emerged as the top scorer of the tournament with 10 goals, which were crucial in reaching the final. In the summer of 1978, he transferred to Olympiacos, where he played for one year, scoring 7 goals in 13 matches. In 1979, he played for "Atromitos Athens" for two years. In 1981, he returned to Panathinaikos to conclude his career. In 1982, after a 22-year career, he retired from active play. As a founding member of the Panhellenic Association of Professional Footballers (PSAP) and its President for 27 years, he demonstrated significant union and social activity, as well as noteworthy institutional work, advocating for the rights of professional Greek footballers. He has been honored with the Cross of the Reserve Warrior of Europe.
