- Without Shielding (UTP): This is a socket with a plastic casing in its mechanism. It is the standard choice for home use, where the network cables in the wall do not come into direct contact with many power cables.
- With Shielding (FTP / STP): The socket features an internal metal casing that surrounds the port. This "shielded" body protects the signal from electrical interference (noise) coming from nearby power outlets or panels.
- Enhanced Shielding (SFTP): It offers maximum possible signal isolation and is designed to perfectly ground double-shielded cables. It is chosen for industrial installations or high-speed networks
