Self-Cleaning: The simplest form. You hold the iron over the sink, press a button, and the appliance “spits out” the limescale through the soleplate.
Cleaning Container: The iron comes with a special plastic container. You place it there, press the cleaning button, and the limescale is collected neatly and cleanly in the container.
Anti-Calc Filter: Uses special cartridges that filter the water before it even reaches the soleplate. Very effective, but requires you to buy replacements when they run out.
Permanent Collector: The ultimate and most cost-effective solution! It is a metal rod (or flush valve) at the base where all the limescale collects. You simply unscrew it, rinse it under the tap, and put it back, with absolutely no replacement cost at all.
