Clear- Passive: Works without power. Ideal for devices with an already strong signal (e.g. keyboards, laptop), while offering a smoother and more even sound.
- Active: Requires power/battery. Ideal for instruments with a weak signal (e.g. acoustic guitars), as it boosts the sound and gives it more presence.
- Ground/Lift: Isolates the ground and instantly eliminates the annoying “hum” caused by electrical current.
- Pad: It immediately reduces the level of a very strong signal so the sound does not distort or overload the mixer console.
- Phase: Reverses the audio phase to correct any frequency cancellations (e.g., bass loss) when used with a microphone.
