- Suction cup: Ideal for smooth and glass surfaces (e.g. windshield, car hood), as it offers a very strong hold through vacuum suction, but requires an absolutely clean and non-porous surface to avoid falling off.
- Magnetic: Ideal for instant mounting on metal objects or over clothing (with a chest pendant), as it is unaffected by dust, but it is useless on plastic, glass, or aluminum.
