Sensors: Contact microphones that are mainly mounted on traditional acoustic instruments (such as bouzouki, guitar, clarinet, or violin). They detect the vibrations of the instrument’s body and provide a very natural, “wooden” sound.
Humbucker (Dual): Dual-coil pickups designed for electric guitars and basses. They eliminate the annoying electrical hum and provide a very full, warm, and powerful sound, ideal for rock and heavy metal.
Single Coil: Classic single-coil pickups (known from Stratocaster guitars). They produce a very bright, “sharp,” and clean sound with great clarity, but are more susceptible to interference.
Piezo/Crystals: Crystal sensors (piezoelectric) that are usually installed under the bridge in acoustic and classical guitars. They convert the pressure of the strings into a clean electrical signal, without being affected by microphonics.
P90: A special type of single-coil pickup, but larger in size. It combines the brightness and clarity of a single-coil pickup with the fullness and power of a humbucker, while having a distinctive vintage character.
