First of all, the device was purchased completely randomly and impulsively (and also very expensive, at 16€!) from a well-known supermarket chain.
First impressions:
Although the (Chinese) materials may look cheap, its construction is quite sturdy. Compact, lightweight, and with a convenient shape. Solid, without any protrusions or corners. Simple rotary control buttons, without many detailed indications. Cable length, along with the plug, is 120cm.
Functionality and performance:
The device was tested for the first time for only 20 minutes in a 10 sqm room. Unfortunately, I could only endure the strong smell of burnt plastic (I mention this for those who have respiratory difficulties). And this was simply because I wanted to check its efficiency.
According to the instructions, the manufacturer promises heating for spaces up to 20 square meters! Of course, this can only be perceived as a wishful thinking. In my 10 sqm room with an initial temperature of 12°C (8°C outside), it failed to raise the temperature by even 2 degrees in that 20-minute period, despite running continuously at full power. In comparison, under similar conditions, my old 2400W heater would raise the temperature by at least 4 degrees (silently)! The next day, I tried it again for 80 minutes. The thermometer reached 15°C in 40 minutes and barely touched 16°C in the continuous operation of 80 minutes! The smell of plastic was present, but not as unbearable as the first time. The noise is not particularly annoying, but it is also not unnoticed. The following day, with an initial temperature of 10°C, after 40 minutes of continuous operation, it managed to raise the temperature to 13°C, and in the 80-minute mark, it reached 14°C. The smell of burnt plastic was noticeable this time, but not intense. A fourth test followed, this time with an initial temperature of 14°C. As expected, it performed better. It managed to reach 19°C in a 60-minute period, without impressing, as the urgent need for rapid heating usually occurs at lower temperatures.
Conclusion:
It is reasonable, of course, for such a small and cheap device to be suitable only for emergency, temporary, or occasional use. Especially with these power characteristics, it can in no way be considered a sufficient solution for exclusive heating of any space larger than 10 sqm, especially in mild climatic conditions.
For very small offices or low-ceiling bathrooms of approximately 7-8 square meters, it might respond satisfactorily. However, in the same square footage, a halogen heater does the job more effectively (radiates heat directly onto materials), more reliably, and quietly! Therefore, I would only recommend it for emergency situations and mainly for auxiliary use: maintaining temperature or assisting another heating system.
