The lens incorporates a molded glass aspherical element measuring 80mm in diameter, the largest in its class, minimizing distortion and spherical aberration. In addition, the specially formulated FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, equivalent to fluorite, eliminate chromatic aberration, delivering exceptional sharpness and contrast from the center to the edges of the frame.
The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art is a third-generation ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for high-resolution full-frame Nikon F-mount cameras. It offers a constant f/4 aperture, outstanding optical fidelity from center to edge, and minimal distortion. It features the largest 80mm molded aspherical element in its class, FLD glass, an upgraded HSM motor, and dust- and splash-resistant sealing.
Premium Optical Design & 80mm Element
The lens incorporates a molded glass aspherical element measuring 80mm in diameter, the largest in its class, minimizing distortion and spherical aberration. In addition, the specially formulated FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, equivalent to fluorite, eliminate chromatic aberration, delivering exceptional sharpness and contrast from the center to the edges of the frame.
Constant F/4 Aperture & Electromagnetic Mechanism
Maintains a constant maximum aperture of f/4 throughout the zoom range, allowing faster shutter speeds and consistent exposure. The Nikon version features an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism for precise control and consistent auto exposure (AE) during rapid continuous shooting, while the rounded 9-blade diaphragm produces natural bokeh.
Upgraded HSM Motor & Minimum Focusing Distance
The redesigned HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) delivers 1.3 times greater drive speed than its predecessor, ensuring fast, quiet and consistent autofocus. In addition, the minimum focusing distance of 24 cm at 24 mm makes it possible to capture impressive close-ups with a wide background.
Durable TSC Construction & Weather Sealing
The durable brass mount features a special rubber seal that protects against dust and water droplets, while the outer glass elements have water- and oil-repellent coatings. The thermally stable composite material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) is used internally, providing high rigidity and consistent performance across temperature changes.
