Description

Piping is a specialized technical branch of installations and involves the technology of transporting mainly liquids and gases but also, under certain conditions, solids, such as grains during loading and unloading from warehouses, ships, etc.

In building installations for water supply, drainage, and central heating, the systems include small-diameter pipes. In ship installations, especially those for transporting liquid or gaseous fuels, medium-diameter pipes are used.

Large and very large diameter pipes are used in pipelines for transporting oil and natural gas from the sources to the countries and consumption locations. In natural gas distribution networks in cities, pipe diameters vary depending on the topology of the network.

In shipyards and refineries, there are specialized teams that deal with the construction and maintenance of piping networks. The primary duty of every piping technician is the meticulous application of safety measures, as one mistake can cost lives.
