The present teaching aid, "Language, reinforcing exercises", is an original and systematic work that covers in a simple and effective way all the linguistic phenomena defined by the official Analytical Curriculum of the Pedagogical Institute. It is addressed to students of the 1st grade of primary school, as well as to the colleague-teacher, who will find in it alternative proposals for the correct teaching approach of linguistic phenomena, as well as a plethora of exercises for their effective consolidation.
It is organized and structured, according to the content of the school book, into 10 Units divided into 81 chapters and 12 Review lessons with review exercises specially designed for complete revision, evaluation, and feedback.
In each Unit, there are various linguistic, grammatical, syntactic, and orthographic exercises with a characteristic and dynamic structure, which consists of the harmonious combination of grammar with syntax and spelling.
Its content is further enriched with original, creative, and reinforcing exercises, crosswords, word searches, etc., which constantly capture and renew the student's interest, resulting in a pleasant psychological climate necessary for the effective acquisition of knowledge.
Additionally, it includes various handwriting exercises, exercises for familiarization with vowels, review exercises for consonant clusters, thus covering the weaknesses of the school book.
It is also accompanied by visual material-flashcards with detailed instructions for their proper utilization, for introducing students to the mechanism of first reading and writing.
We hope that our work will significantly help the 1st-grade student, even the student with learning difficulties, to approach linguistic phenomena correctly, to effectively acquire the mechanism of first reading and writing, and, above all, to understand and consolidate simply and correctly the fundamental grammatical concepts and syntactic structures of our language.
