Elder Paisios, in the world Arsenios Eznepidis, was born in Farasa, Cappadocia, in July 1924 and "fell asleep" on July 12, 1994. His body was buried in the Holy Monastery of St. John the Theologian in Sourwater, Thessaloniki.
His entire life was devoted to the Triune God, who granted him abundant mercy, spiritual strength, and many gifts. With a discerning, prophetic, and miraculous spirit, as well as a spirit of understanding and wisdom, despite being semi-literate, he taught wisely to both young and old, benefiting countless souls who came to his humble cell seeking help and comfort, and performed numerous miracles.
His spiritual radiance and his benevolent love extended throughout our country and beyond.
