Although about one hundred and fifty years have passed since this novel was written, it continues to move those who read it. Jane Eyre is a little orphan. Her mother's brother takes her into his home and, upon his death, entrusts her to his wife to raise her with their own children. But she is a harsh woman, and little Jane Eyre is hurt every day by her behavior.
Eventually, her aunt sends her at the age of ten to an orphanage, where she studies and lives with countless deprivations, and, as a teacher, she is hired in a house to take on the education of a little girl. However, Jane Eyre's drama continues in that wealthy house, where mysterious events occur. This drama culminates on the day she is to marry the master of the house, when a terrible secret is revealed, causing her wedding to be canceled. Jane Eyre leaves secretly and wanders hungry, without money, without any hope, until she finds a hospitable shelter and starts her life anew, trying to forget the past.
It is a touching novel in which the famous English author put all her art and managed to show that dignity, strength of character... and faith in an ideal can overcome any difficulty and surmount any obstacle.
