On October 15, 1927, during the Second Great Assembly of the Republican People's Party, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, President of the newly established Turkish Republic, took the podium and began his speech.
This is the speech that became known as "Atatürk's Nutuk," which lasted for 6 days (a total of 36.5 hours). A speech that, over time, has proven to be of great historical significance for both the Turks and scholars around the world studying Atatürk's work and the modern history of Turkey.
This is the first time the entire text has been translated into the English language, and we hope that it will serve as another stepping stone towards a better understanding and knowledge of the contemporary history of both nations.
