This brief study seeks to present, analyze, and evaluate the Lisbon Treaty, which initially named the "Reform Treaty," emerged from the failed European Constitution.
The Lisbon Treaty, as a "modifying Treaty" of the existing Treaties, is a particularly complex and unreadable text, articulated in technocratic language, accompanied by a large number of Protocols and Declarations. Therefore, its understanding is extremely difficult for the concerned citizen.
The main goal of this book is to make the new Treaty and its provisions understandable, while also evaluating them in reference to the broader trends that are developing for European integration.
