I have the lens from 2019 from the d3500 kit and after so many years of use I can say that for its price it is very good, the only negative thing is the sharpness, but still it is worth it, but not at the price of 300+ euros, it used to be 200€ and now it has gone up quite a bit.

My review was based on the camera I have, Nikon d7200 (and on an older camera like the d5200, the lens works fine without the update). Unfortunately, the lens has a large aperture and lacks a bit in portraits, it is dark and the lack of macro limits you a little. It is a very high-quality and reliable lens, clear and fast in its shots! An amateur (like myself) will find it very useful. A good+ photographer would be better off investing in something else...

The most value for money zoom lens on the market.
Very satisfactory performance despite its low cost. Sharp enough for the price you pay, fast and silent autofocus, good color rendering. Also, for this lens category, chromatic aberration is always well controlled. Contrast is quite good up to 200mm, beyond that, there is a gradual decrease without significantly affecting the quality of the shots.

For the money, it's a great camera. It takes very good photos, although not with the sharpness that a prime lens would have, but the result is satisfactory. The VR focus works perfectly, especially if you also buy a good tripod to keep the camera as stable as possible. It will give you very good results even at night.

Tested on almost all crop DSLR bodies, it has its value, maybe even more than its price. Recommended for amateur and professional use. Purchased on the 12th of 2019, it has taken approximately 3500 clicks on DSLR (d7500, d5200, d3500, etc.). On a good crop body, it highlights its value, and I believe its position in our bag is self-evident. For landscapes far away, such as snowy mountains, or intermediate objects (flying birds), it requires a lot of effort - clicks and zooming on the monitor - either for the background or the intermediate field.
It also has a circular vignette in clear conditions (vignetting) due to the cheap glass elements.
For a stable frame, it's okay, you just try and see naturally in raw resolution on the PC or laptop screen how you took it and judge. Aesthetics and opinion differ for everyone, so a few money buys good quality, the matter is in the hand and perception.

I have had it for a year and I use it for photographing fighter aircraft. I wear it on a D3400. Sometimes I miss shots because the autofocus is slow, also it has a large aperture and at high shutter speeds you need to increase the ISO!! Those are the only issues I have identified. It is a great lens for its price!!

I got it as a gift along with the Nikon D5600 camera. It's a pretty good lens to start with, you'll be thrilled with its performance for ground photography. You'll get beautiful results when capturing the moon, and you'll be amazed, but it won't reach a professional level!

He is not perfect in any case ... the sharpness is not excellent. Like in a cheap lens, for example a prime 35mm 1.8F... but that is logical... for its price, it's okay... nothing special though, neither in clarity nor in colors... it just provides you with the zoom... ONLY if you need the zoom and you are on a budget, then it's worth it... if you don't really need that much zoom, don't bother getting it... find a better quality prime lens or spend more for a better one... I got it on sale with a body and 2 lenses...

Purchased new from Greece, brand new at a very low price (200€). I've had it for only a few days, so I've used it very little. But from the first images, it looks amazing. Compared to the kit 18-105, it's much better in every aspect. I was impressed by the fast and silent AF, as well as the VR. Used with a Nikon D5200. Fantastic lens! The only negative is that the packaging does not include the hood.

Very good lens for its price. Okay, it's not the fastest in auto-focus (although it's silent) and sometimes it has a slight inaccuracy and needs minor adjustments by hand, but that's forgivable. And its weight is manageable, not too heavy, and once you get used to it, you forget about it. Very user-friendly, I have enjoyed it a lot in nature, landscape, and even some portraits. The optical stabilization is excellent and quiet. I got it as part of the kit with the 5300 and the 18-50 AF-P DX, so it's very cost-effective, but I would buy it separately at this price.

If you have already concluded that you want to buy a telephoto lens, it is the best value for money solution... Compact construction, completely silent, relatively lightweight for a telephoto lens.

  • For its money, the amazing lens is better than the kit 18-55 that I have.

  • I have the lens from 2019 from the d3500 kit and after so many years of use I can say that for its price it is very good, the only negative thing is the sharpness, but still it is worth it, but not at the price of 300+ euros, it used to be 200€ and now it has gone up quite a bit.

  • In these funds, I don't think you can go for something better.. satisfied in everything.. whoever evaluates him negatively, I think he compares him to lenses of double the price+

  • My review was based on the camera I have, Nikon d7200 (and on an older camera like the d5200, the lens works fine without the update).
