Purchased on July 10, 2020 (the drill driver, 2 batteries 18V 1.3 Ah, the charger, and the Stanley carrying bag) for 89€ on offer from a chain store with power tools. Looking for a reputable drill driver for amateur to semi-professional use for home, renovation, DIY projects, and general use, costing below or up to 100€ and having decent features (torque, speed, Ah, etc.) and including 2 batteries, it is definitely worth the money (89€). It comes with a 1-year warranty with a simple purchase receipt, and if you register an account at www.stanleytools.com/3, you can extend the warranty to 3 years along with the receipt.
I have an old corded impact drill made in England, the Black & Decker 400W, and it still works and has drilled many holes, even in locks and thick concrete, without changing the brushes. However, I wanted a portable battery-powered one to use it anywhere without needing an extension cord. If you have a power outlet nearby, definitely go for a cheaper drill (25-50€) with 220V, as it will have more power.
Let's move on to the features and impressions from the first contact.
- I chose it because of its strong torque (max 47 Nm) compared to other more expensive drills (of course, with brushed motors).
- It provides 350 to 1500 RPM without load and 25500 BPM in hammer mode, which is for concrete and walls.
- The chuck doesn't require a key, you can tighten it by hand, and it's 13mm.
- It has a small LED for better visibility, although I would have preferred it to be a bit brighter.
- There is a clip at the bottom of the handle to attach a screwdriver bit. It would be perfect if it had a battery level indicator.
- The charger has an LED that indicates the charging status. It has protection circuits and charges at 18V @ 1A, which is fast because lithium batteries (like the ones in our mobile phones) take care of that. It charges in 40 minutes, while in the past, with Ni-Cd batteries, it took 12 hours for the initial charge and then 3 hours.
- It has 2 speeds and a clutch with 22 + 1 (hammer) torque control options for the motor.
- The battery is small (1.3 Ah), it could have been 1.5 Ah, but I wanted it as others have it at 2 Ah. However, it is sufficient because it comes with 2 batteries of 1.3 Ah each, providing good autonomy.
- Some people say it is heavy, but I personally find it convenient that it is a bit heavy as it is stable, although it can be tiring during prolonged use.
- I read somewhere, and I'm not entirely sure, that the Stanley Fatmax series is considered professional. However, the store where I bought it described it as intensive and heavy-duty. From what I can tell, both in this tool and in most drills in the price range of 60-160€, they have the classic DC motor with brushes for motor rotation. Therefore, after years of persistent and intense use, depending on how much you use it, the brushes will eventually need to be replaced (they are not expensive, I just mention it so that you don't throw it away but replace them, it is an easy process that you can do yourself). For more expensive drills (150€ and above), I would definitely recommend getting a drill with a brushless motor, which has higher torque, doesn't overheat, and can withstand years without servicing, as it doesn't have brushes.
- The Stanley bag can fit the drill with the two batteries, the charger, the manual, as well as my own set of drill bits and screwdriver bits.
- The manual provides safety instructions and proper usage guidelines. From what I can see, it has the European Union markings, as it says Belgium on the tool.
It is definitely worth its money with this set and with these features, you remain satisfied. Since I haven't worked with it yet, I will re-evaluate it after testing and time will show how durable it is.

Ψάχνοντας ένα επώνυμο δραπανοκατσάβιδο για ερασιτεχνική ως ημι-επαγγελματική χρήση για το σπίτι αλλά και για ανακαίνιση, DIY projects και γενική χρήση να κοστίζει κάτω ή έως 100Ε και να είναι αξιοπρεπής από θέμα χαρακτηριστικών (ροπής, στροφές, Ah κ.α) και να περιλαβάνει 2 μπαταρίες αξίζει σίγουρα τα χρήματα του (89Ε). Από εγγύηση έχει με την απλή απόδειξη αγοράς 1 έτος και αν κάνετε register λογαριασμό στο www.stanleytools.com/3 θα επεκτείνετε την εγγυήση μαζί με την απόδειξη πάντα στα 3 χρόνια.
Έχω ένα παλιό κρουστικό made England το Black & Decker των 400W με καλώδιο και ακόμα λειτουργεί και έχει ανοίξει πολλές τρύπες ακόμα και σε κλειδαρίες και σε χοντρό μπετό και δεν έχουν αλλαχτεί τα καρβουνάκια αλλά ήθελα ένα φορητό με μπαταρία για να το χρησιμοποιώ παντού και να μην τραβάω μπαλαντέζες, αν έχετε πρίζα κοντά σας σίγουρα ένα και όχι πολύ ακριβό δράπανο (25~50Ε) λόγω των 220V θα έχει μεγαλύτερη ισχύ.
Πάμε στα χαρακτηριστικά και στις εντυπώσεις με την πρώτη επαφή.
-> Το επέλεξα λόγω της δυνατής ροπής που έχει (max 47 Nm) σε σχέση με άλλα ακριβότερα δράπανα (φυσικά με brushes μοτερς).
-> Δίνει 350 ως 1500 RPM χωρίς φόρτο και στο κρουστικό που είναι για μπετο και τοίχους δίνει 25500 BPM.
-> Το τσοκ δεν χρειάζεται κλειδί γυρίζει με το χέρι είναι 13mm.
-> Έχει ledακι για να βλεπεις εκεί που δουλεύει θα το ήθελα λίγο πιο δυνατό.
-> Στο κάτω μέρος της λαβής έχει κλιπ για να βάλεις μύτη για κατσαβίδι, θα ήταν τέλειο αν είχε μετρητη για να βλέπεις τη στάθμη της μπαταρίας.
-> Ο φορτιστής έχει ένα led και υποδεικνύει την λειτουργία της φόρτισης έχει κυκλώματα προστασίας είναι 18V @ 1A γρήγορος μιας και σε αυτό φροντίζουν και οι μπαταρίες λιθίου (σαν αυτές που έχουν τα κινητά μας) φορτίζει σε 40 λεπτά που παλιότερα με τις Ni-Cd ηθελε 12 ώρες και να φορτίσει για πρώτη χρήση και μετά 3 ώρες.
-> Έχει 2 ταχύτητες ο συμπλέκτης και 22 + 1(κρουστικό) επιλογές ελέγχου ροπής για το μοτέρ.
-> Η μπαταρία είναι μικρή (1,3 Ah) θα μπορούσε να είναι 1,5 Ah αλλά την ήθελα όπως και άλλοι στα 2 Ah αλλά καλύπτεται γιατί δίνει 2 των 1,3 Ah και έχεις καλή αυτονομία.
-> Κάποιοι λίγοι λένε ότι είναι βαρύ αλλά έμενα με βολεύει που είναι λίγο βαρύ είναι σταθερό αλλά στην χρήση σε ψιλοκουράζει.
-> Κάπου διάβασα δεν είμαι και σίγουρος ότι η σειρά Fatmax της Stanley είναι επαγγελματική, αλλά και στο μαγαζί που το πήρα έλεγε εντατική και βαριά χρήση αλλά από τι διακρίνω στο εργαλείο αλλά και στα περισσότερα δράπανα της τάξης των 60~160 Ε έχουν το κλασικό DC μοτερ με τα καρβουνάκια (brushes) για την περιστροφή του μοτέρ οπότε κατά την επίμονη και έντονη χρήση μετά από χρόνια ανάλογα βέβαια πόσο το χρησιμοποιείτε θέλουν αλλαγή τα καρβουνάκια (δεν είναι ακριβά απλά το αναφέρω για να μην το πετάξετε αλλά να τα αλλάξετε είναι εύκολη διαδικασία που την κάνετε και μόνοι σας), τα ακριβότερα δράπανα από (150Ε και άνω) σίγουρα για επαγγελματική χρήση θα συνιστούσα να πάρετε δράπανο με (brushless) μοτερ που έχει μεγαλύτερη ροπή, δεν υπερθερμένεται και αντέχει χρόνια χωρίς σερβις εφόσον δεν έχει καρβουνάκια.
-> Η τσάντα της Stanley χωράει το δράπανο με τις δυο μπαταρίες, το φορτιστή, το εγχειρίδιο, καθώς και 2 δικά μου setακια με τρυπάνια και μύτες κατσαβιδιών.
-> Το εγχειρίδιο αναφέρεται σε οδηγίες ασφαλείας και σωστή χρήση, από ότι διακρίνω έχει τα σήματα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης το εργαλείο μιας γράφει Belgium.
Αξίζει τα χρηματά του σίγουρα με αυτό το set και με αυτά τα χαρακτηριστικά μένεις ευχαριστημένος.
Επειδή δεν έχω δουλέψει ακόμα θα το επ-αναξιολογήσω ξανά μετά από δοκιμές και το πέρασμα του χρόνου θα δείξει πόσο αντοχής είναι.
