Multitrack Recording & Analog Inputs

The Tascam DP-24SD enables simultaneous recording of up to 8 independent channels via its XLR/TRS combo jacks. The preamps support condenser and dynamic microphones, with +48V phantom power. Input H features a selectable high-impedance (Hi-Z) switch for direct connection of an electric guitar or bass. Recordings are made to SD/SDHC cards, offering resistance to shock and eliminating noise from moving mechanical parts.

User Interface & Channel Strip Section

The control surface features a 3.5-inch LCD that displays track levels, effect parameters, and project settings. The Channel Strip section includes physical rotary knobs for direct control of the selected channel’s equalization (3-band EQ), stereo positioning (Pan), and effect sends (Send), providing an analog feel while mixing.

Built-in Processing & Effects System

The device includes three independent sections for digital effects: input effects (Dynamic FX such as compressors and limiters), guitar amplifier simulations (Amp Modeling), and spatial reverb effects (Reverb Send) for mixing, as well as a dedicated Mastering suite. The Mastering section offers tools such as a multiband compressor, EQ, and limiter for final processing of the stereo file before export.

Connectivity, Monitor Out & Data Transfer

On the rear panel, the DP-24SD features dedicated 1/4" TRS Monitor Out connectors with independent level control, stereo RCA Main Out connectors, and two Effect Send outputs for connecting external processors or monitors. The USB 2.0 port connects the device to a PC or Mac, making it easy to transfer individual WAV tracks for further processing in DAW software.
