The two one-act plays presented here are works from the mature age of August Strindberg (1849-1912) and are permeated by his main obsession - the neurotic yet brilliant - author: the lack of trust between the couple and the disastrous consequences this has on their interpersonal relationships.
Strindberg is a unique phenomenon of a writer who transforms his monomanias into art and gives artistic form to his neuroses. Perhaps this sustains him, saves him from sinking into darkness and madness, and, at the same time, acts as a therapeutic treatment.
