    In excavations, it heats up due to its metal parts, but it cools relatively quickly for the same reason. Personally, I consider it preferable to feel when the machine is heating up so that I can let it 'rest', rather than a machine with only plastic parts, which traps the temperature inside and sometimes by the time you realize it has heated up, the damage has already been done. For drilling in masonry and concrete, it's like cutting through butter. I have it for tough professional use.
