Description

Game Theory examines decision problems involving multiple participants, each of whom has their own objectives in relation to a common system or competition for the distribution of common resources. Game Theory emerged from scenarios of competition, so the problems it examines are referred to as "games" and the participants as "players". Each player has a set of "moves" (strategies) that they can execute. Each move results in a specific "payoff" for the player who chose it. Players choose their moves in order to maximize their gains, while always assuming that all other players in the game are seeking the same: the maximization of their own payoffs.

The small book you are holding in your hands is a brief introduction to the field of Game Theory. Its content is based on the Academic traditions of the relevant course at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Patras. The mathematics in this book are minimal, nothing more than additions and subtractions. The essence lies in the figures and tables presented, which you must understand. I hope you find it interesting!
