Lewis Carroll, the pseudonym under which the British author, mathematician, photographer, and clergyman Charles Lutwidge Dodgson became widely known, was undoubtedly a fortunate man. Unlike other creators who are recognized only posthumously, he was fortunate enough to see his most famous work, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," attain the title of the most popular children's literature book by the end of his life.

In the following years, its popularity increased even more, resulting in the mid-20th century being considered the most famous book of its kind in the world. One hundred and fifty years after its first publication in 1865, the endurance and the multifaceted influence of "Alice in Wonderland" (a title that eventually became established) remain impressive: it has been translated into at least 97 languages and has undergone numerous television and film adaptations.
