Description

History is always written by the Victors and the Powerful, who have every reason to conceal, obscure, or worse, distort and alter the truth as they see fit, lulling the people and robbing them of their true history.

Thus, we are taught a fabricated, a "virtual history" that always serves the ruling class of the time - which tends to whitewash events for its own benefit.

In this book, the author boldly reveals painful and shocking truths about the great Revolution of the Greeks, unearthing facts that dethrone manufactured heroes and paying tribute to the true fighters and the real martyrs of the Revival.

Excellent work! Truths that will never be revealed in a public school! The author's references to various incidents in the present time are judged... Other than that, it is worth a lot!

It cites valid sources and the facts presented are true. It contains historical anecdotes that give you a different perspective on the national struggle. Beyond that, the book is a simple listing of sources with the author's commentary, which usually just insults those involved. It has a particular obsession with the church and priests, lacking objectivity. It does not have the style of a historical text, and the constant bias is tiring. I would not recommend it.

Stay away from this book. It is completely unreliable. I am only on the first chapter and it is full of inaccuracies. The author, a former judge with an arrogant attitude, judges everyone as he pleases. On page 29, he mentions that Kolokotronis lost both of his children in the battle. This is not true for the second one, Giannis (Brave). He criticizes the official church and claims that historically it was against any national effort, while the honored robe had shed revolutionary blood countless times. Even the revolution in Lavrio started with Germanos. All of this is only in the first few pages, and that's where I stopped reading. It is an inaccurate book in the style of a daytime TV show. Find something more serious to get informed. Even Patroklos managed to produce anti-Greek individuals who filled the schools (page 27)

The book presents not so well-known details about the revolution, which refer to people or events. Because in recent years I have been reading books and watching speeches on YouTube about the revolution, I think that the events mentioned by this particular author fully correspond to reality.

One of the best and most informative books of this period, easy to read with sources and truly leaves you speechless with its revelations, you will be surprised and will reconsider everything you believed about all the figures of the revolution

Very good depiction of the opinion and historically well-documented. I have already read the book "The Prisoner of It's Kale" by the same author.
