The second volume of the History of Modern Greek Theatre is published in three parts, and the presentation of this volume of the most significant source we have for New Greek theatre is completed with the third part.
In this section of the second volume, the views of distinguished extra-theatrical intellectuals and creators during the first decades of the century are examined, as well as the activity of the troupes that created two of the most important protagonists of Greek theatre, Emilios Veakis and Christoforos Nezer.
Yannis Sideris has collected valuable and hard-to-find material to compile a detailed record of theatrical activity not only within the geographical limits of Greece but also in the Greek communities of Constantinople, Smyrna, and Romania.
