I have tried to write this set of books in such a way that it meets various needs. First, these books serve as a reference for works that summarize the knowledge acquired in various significant fields. Second, they can be used as manuals for individual study or for university courses in computer science and informatics.
To satisfy these two objectives, I have incorporated a large number of exercises into the text and provided solutions for most of them. I have also made an effort to fill the pages with facts rather than vague statements.
This volume can be considered as the intersection of the entire set of books, in the sense that it contains essential material used in the other books. Volumes 2 to 5, on the other hand, can be read independently of each other.
Volume 1 is not just a reference book that should be used in conjunction with the other volumes. It can also be used in university courses or for individual study in the area of data structures, or in the area of discrete mathematics, or in the area of programming in machine language.
