Are these headphones worth it if you have just started exploring studio monitoring? The external sound isolation and build quality could be better, but Sennheiser delivers good sound and bass in this model of the HDxxx PRO series, and I am sure that the HD300 PRO is much better than them, BUT do not avoid them. They are worth it, as I said, for newcomers in Studio Monitoring. They are lightweight, so they are also portable. I would recommend them to you.

I am a producer of electronic music (mainly dance) and a DJ. I bought the headphones hastily, looking for something relatively cheap quickly because I ran out of time... Searching in the category "DJ headphones" on a well-known store's website in Greece, I found them at a good price and because I trust Sennheiser, I decided to get them. However, before purchasing them, I checked prices on some other sites (in Greece/abroad) and saw that these specific headphones fall under the category of "monitor," which means they are suitable for music production. I thought that if they are also listed in the DJing category, they would have satisfactory sound and volume (especially in the bass), but that turned out to be untrue... These headphones are purely monitor headphones, with a fairly satisfactory sound, whether for listening or production. At the first party where I used them, I could hardly hear anything in the bass... They gave me a lot of trouble! As for production and listening, they are qualitatively good in terms of sound and relatively comfortable for the consecutive 3-hour sessions I have worn them for. After comparing them with my studio monitor speakers, I concluded that they are suitable for creating sound through synths, for quick mixing, and ONLY for frequencies around 400Hz and above (I may be saying too few), so the kicks and basses, when played on regular speakers, were not what I heard in the headphones. In short, I concluded that while they are suitable for composing music and creating synth sounds, the serious/final work/tuning should be done on speakers... In general, in this category-price range, they give me the impression that they are not competing with other headphones, and although I bought them for a different reason and initially disappointed me, I am ultimately satisfied!
Είμαι παραγωγός ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής (κυρίως dance) και dj. Τα ακουστικά τα πήρα βιαστικά ψάχνοντας να βρω κάτι σχετικά φτηνό στα γρήγορα επειδή ξέμεινα τελευταία στιγμή... Ψάχνοντας στην κατηγορία "ακουστικά για dj" σε σελίδα γνωστού καταστήματος στην Ελλάδα, τα βρήκα σε καλή τιμή και επειδή εμπιστεύομαι τη sennheiser είπα θα τα τσιμπήσω. Ωστόσο πριν τα αγοράσω τσέκαρα για τιμές και σε μερικά άλλα site (Ελλάδα/εξωτερικό) και είδα πως τα συγκεκριμένα ακουστικά υπάγονται στην κατηγορία "monitor", που σημαίνει πως είναι κατάλληλα για παραγωγή μουσικής. Σκέφτηκα πως για να τα έχουν και στην κατηγορία για djing θα έχουν ικανοποιητικό ήχο και ένταση (ειδικά στα μπάσα) πράγμα που τελικά δεν ίσχυε... Τα ακουστικά αυτά είναι καθαρά ακουστικά monitor, με αρκετά ικανοποιητικό ήχο, είτε για ακρόαση είτε για παραγωγή. Στο πρώτο πάρτι που τα χρησιμοποίησα πραγματικά δεν άκουγα σχεδόν τίποτα στα μπάσα... με δυσκόλεψαν αφάνταστα! Όσον αφορά την παραγωγή και την ακρόαση είναι ποιοτικά από άποψη ήχου και σχετικά ξεκούραστα για τα σερί 3ωράκια που τα έχω φορέσει. Μετά από συγκρίσεις με τα studio monitor ηχεία μου, κατέληξα πως είναι κατάλληλα για δημιουργία ήχου μέσω synth, για πρόχειρη μίξη και ΜΟΝΟ για συχνότητες από γύρω στα 400hz και πάνω (μπορεί να λέω και λίγα), συνεπώς οι μπότες και τα μπάσα όταν τα έβαζα στα κανονικά ηχεία δεν ήταν αυτό που άκουγα στα ακουστικά. Με λίγα λόγια κατέληξα ότι ναι μεν είναι κατάλληλα για να συνθέσεις μουσικούλα και να φτιάξεις synth ήχους αλλά η σοβαρή/τελική δουλειά/ρύθμση πρέπει να γίνεται στα ηχεία... Σε γενικές γραμμές σε αυτή την κατηγορία-τιμή μου δίνουν την εντύπωση ότι δεν τα ανταγωνίζονται άλλα ακουστικά και παρόλο που τα πήρα για άλλο λόγο και σε πρώτη φάση με απογοήτευσαν, είμαι ικανοποιημένος τελικά!
I have them here for about a year, I am quite satisfied, the only negative thing I will say is that the ears sweat quite a bit after prolonged use. I use them as everyday headphones on my computer for gaming, music, but also for studio work in combination with an external sound card. I highly recommend them for the 50 euros that I bought them for!

The bass is much better than I have heard with any other headphones (and I have tried many in my life), to the point that many songs I listened to with other headphones gain a whole new, almost different dimension. So far, this has impressed me the most.
I definitely recommend them.
They are lightweight and don't bother my ears like other headphones I had, but maybe because I have a small head/ears.
Also, they must be very good at sound isolation because I couldn't hear external noises that I would hear with other headphones (even noise-canceling ones).

Επίσης πρέπει να είναι πολύ καλά στην ηχομόνωση γιατί δε μπορούσα να ακούσω εξωτερικούς θορύβους που θα άκουγα με άλλα ακουστικά (ακόμα και ηχομονωτικά).

It is lightweight, but not as comfortable as I expected and feels a bit heavy. Someone with a smaller head might find them more comfortable. However, they are not terribly uncomfortable, you just feel a little stiffness in the ear cushions after 2-3 hours. Personally, I wear them for 8-10 hours a day at work.
The build quality is average, everything is plastic but it seems like it will hold up. This is something we will see in the future.
The cable is quite long, I would have liked it to be detachable. You can't easily fold them in any way to transport them.
The appearance is very nice, but that is subjective.
The isolation of external sounds is quite good, especially for this price range. More expensive solutions are much better, but the HD 200 Pro does its job adequately in this area.
I haven't received any complaints from my colleagues when I turn up the volume. However, I think they sound a bit loud to others at high volume. In an office environment, where there is already a certain level of noise, it is imperceptible. Maybe for home use at night, while the other person is sleeping and you want to listen to dubstep at full volume, they may not be ideal.
The sound quality is excellent, to the point where you seriously consider whether it is worth getting more expensive headphones. Personally, up to €150, I don't think you can find other headphones with better sound. Beyond that, you go for Audio Technica M50x.
The sound balance is very good and the bass is neutral (as it should be) and doesn't have much distortion when you increase the volume.
Personally, I listen to music flat, but you can use an equalizer to adjust the sound as you like, and it gives you a lot of room to play around before the sound starts to distort.
In conclusion, I recommend them.

Είναι ελαφριά, αλλά δεν είναι τόσο άνετα όσο περίμενα και τα αισθάνεσαι λίγο πιο βαριά. Ενδεχομένως κάποιος που έχει μικρότερο κεφάλι να τα θεωρεί πιο άνετα. Πάντως δεν είναι τραγικά άβολα, απλά νιώθεις λίγο τη σκληρότητα στα μαξιλαράκια μετά από 2-3 ώρες. Εγώ προσωπικά τα φοράω 8-10 ώρες την ημέρα στη δουλειά.
Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι μέτρια, όλο είναι πλαστικό αλλά φαίνεται ότι μάλλον θα κρατήσει. Αυτό είναι κάτι που θα το δούμε στο μέλλον.
Το καλώδιο είναι αρκετά μακρύ, θα ήθελα να είναι αποσπώμενο. Δεν μπορείς να τα διπλώσεις με κάποιο τρόπο εύκολα, ώστε να τα μεταφέρεις.
Η εμφάνιση είναι πολύ ωραία, αλλά αυτό είναι υποκειμενικό.

I use them for music tele-education, piano monitoring, electronic orchestration, and simple music listening in combination with the Steinberg UR242 sound card.
1. They are not suitable for those who stand in front of a subwoofer and do not understand bass... The bass is present, but it does not take center stage in the acoustic spectrum (as it should, in my opinion).
2. They are not suitable for recording, as the sound is not isolated and a good condenser microphone "picks them up."
3. They are very good for all-around use, with a wide sound field that does not tire (of course, if the volume is tolerable for humans) even after prolonged use.
4. They are very lightweight and comfortable, but in terms of construction, they show that they need to be handled with particular gentleness...
Τα χρησιμοποιώ για τηλεκπαίδευση μουσικής, monitoring στο πιάνο, ηλεκτρονική ενορχήστρωση και απλή μουσική ακρόαση σε συνδυασμό με την κάρτα ήχου steinberg ur242.
1. Δεν κάνουν γι' αυτούς που στέκονται μπροστά από subwoofer και δεν καταλαβαίνουν μπάσο... Το μπάσο είναι εκεί παρόν, αλλά δεν πρωταγωνιστεί στο ακουστικό φάσμα (όπως κατά την άποψή μου πρέπει).
2. Δεν κάνουν για ηχογράφηση, διότι δεν απομονώνεται ο ήχος και ένα καλό πυκνωτικό μικρόφωνο "τα πιάνει".
3. Είναι πολύ καλά για all around χρήση, με ευρύ ηχητικό πεδίο που δεν κουράζει (εννοείται αν η ένταση είναι ανθρωπίνως υποφερτή) ακόμα και μετά από πολύωρη χρήση.
4. Είναι πολύ ελαφριά και άνετα, αλλά κατασκευαστικά, δείχνουν ότι χρειάζεται να τα χειρίζεσαι ιδιαίτερα ευγενικά...
Are these headphones worth it if you have just started exploring studio monitoring? The external sound isolation and build quality could be better, but Sennheiser delivers good sound and bass in this model of the HDxxx PRO series, and I am sure that the HD300 PRO is much better than them, BUT do not avoid them. They are worth it, as I said, for newcomers in Studio Monitoring. They are lightweight, so they are also portable. I would recommend them to you.
Αξίζουν τα ακουστικά αυτά αν μόλις ξεκινήσατε να ερευνατε studio monitoring. Η απομόνωση εξωτερικού ήχου και ποιότητα κατασκευής θα μπορούσε να ήταν καλύτερα αλλά η Sennheiser φέρνει καλό ήχο και μπάσο σε αυτό το μοντέλο της σειράς HDxxx PRO και είμαι σίγουρος πως τα HD300 PRO είναι πολύ καλύτερα από αυτά ΑΛΛΑ μην τα αππφύγετε αυτά. Αξίζουν όπως είπα για καινούργιους στο Studio Monitoring. Είναι ελαφριά οπότε είναι και portable. Θα τα σύστηνα σε εσάς.
Simple & minimalist design, lightweight, good sound - ears don't get tired. They were directly connected to an external sound card (focusrite scarlett solo 3rd gen) thanks to the audio jack 3.5 to 1/4" adapter they come with, for live monitoring of the microphone or musical instrument connected to the card.

I am a producer of electronic music (mainly dance) and a DJ. I bought the headphones hastily, looking for something relatively cheap quickly because I ran out of time... Searching in the category "DJ headphones" on a well-known store's website in Greece, I found them at a good price and because I trust Sennheiser, I decided to get them. However, before purchasing them, I checked prices on some other sites (in Greece/abroad) and saw that these specific headphones fall under the category of "monitor," which means they are suitable for music production. I thought that if they are also listed in the DJing category, they would have satisfactory sound and volume (especially in the bass), but that turned out to be untrue... These headphones are purely monitor headphones, with a fairly satisfactory sound, whether for listening or production. At the first party where I used them, I could hardly hear anything in the bass... They gave me a lot of trouble! As for production and listening, they are qualitatively good in terms of sound and relatively comfortable for the consecutive 3-hour sessions I have worn them for. After comparing them with my studio monitor speakers, I concluded that they are suitable for creating sound through synths, for quick mixing, and ONLY for frequencies around 400Hz and above (I may be saying too few), so the kicks and basses, when played on regular speakers, were not what I heard in the headphones. In short, I concluded that while they are suitable for composing music and creating synth sounds, the serious/final work/tuning should be done on speakers... In general, in this category-price range, they give me the impression that they are not competing with other headphones, and although I bought them for a different reason and initially disappointed me, I am ultimately satisfied!
Είμαι παραγωγός ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής (κυρίως dance) και dj. Τα ακουστικά τα πήρα βιαστικά ψάχνοντας να βρω κάτι σχετικά φτηνό στα γρήγορα επειδή ξέμεινα τελευταία στιγμή... Ψάχνοντας στην κατηγορία "ακουστικά για dj" σε σελίδα γνωστού καταστήματος στην Ελλάδα, τα βρήκα σε καλή τιμή και επειδή εμπιστεύομαι τη sennheiser είπα θα τα τσιμπήσω. Ωστόσο πριν τα αγοράσω τσέκαρα για τιμές και σε μερικά άλλα site (Ελλάδα/εξωτερικό) και είδα πως τα συγκεκριμένα ακουστικά υπάγονται στην κατηγορία "monitor", που σημαίνει πως είναι κατάλληλα για παραγωγή μουσικής. Σκέφτηκα πως για να τα έχουν και στην κατηγορία για djing θα έχουν ικανοποιητικό ήχο και ένταση (ειδικά στα μπάσα) πράγμα που τελικά δεν ίσχυε... Τα ακουστικά αυτά είναι καθαρά ακουστικά monitor, με αρκετά ικανοποιητικό ήχο, είτε για ακρόαση είτε για παραγωγή. Στο πρώτο πάρτι που τα χρησιμοποίησα πραγματικά δεν άκουγα σχεδόν τίποτα στα μπάσα... με δυσκόλεψαν αφάνταστα! Όσον αφορά την παραγωγή και την ακρόαση είναι ποιοτικά από άποψη ήχου και σχετικά ξεκούραστα για τα σερί 3ωράκια που τα έχω φορέσει. Μετά από συγκρίσεις με τα studio monitor ηχεία μου, κατέληξα πως είναι κατάλληλα για δημιουργία ήχου μέσω synth, για πρόχειρη μίξη και ΜΟΝΟ για συχνότητες από γύρω στα 400hz και πάνω (μπορεί να λέω και λίγα), συνεπώς οι μπότες και τα μπάσα όταν τα έβαζα στα κανονικά ηχεία δεν ήταν αυτό που άκουγα στα ακουστικά. Με λίγα λόγια κατέληξα ότι ναι μεν είναι κατάλληλα για να συνθέσεις μουσικούλα και να φτιάξεις synth ήχους αλλά η σοβαρή/τελική δουλειά/ρύθμση πρέπει να γίνεται στα ηχεία... Σε γενικές γραμμές σε αυτή την κατηγορία-τιμή μου δίνουν την εντύπωση ότι δεν τα ανταγωνίζονται άλλα ακουστικά και παρόλο που τα πήρα για άλλο λόγο και σε πρώτη φάση με απογοήτευσαν, είμαι ικανοποιημένος τελικά!
I have them here for about a year, I am quite satisfied, the only negative thing I will say is that the ears sweat quite a bit after prolonged use. I use them as everyday headphones on my computer for gaming, music, but also for studio work in combination with an external sound card. I highly recommend them for the 50 euros that I bought them for!
τα εχω εδω και κανα χρονο, ειμαι αρκετα ικανοποιημένος, μονο αρνητικό θα πω ότι ιδρώνουν αρκετά τα αυτιά μετά από πολύωρη χρήση. Τα χρησιμοποιώ σαν καθημερινά ακουστικά στο πισι για γκειμς, μουσικη, αλλά και στουντιακά για επεξεργασια ηχου σε συνδιασμό με εξωτερική καρτα ηχου. Τα συνιστώ στο φουλ για 50 ευρω που τα ειχα παρει εγω!
Having in mind the sound you can hear for the money you will spend on it, I would characterize it as average. However, it is by no means a bad pair of headphones and I am satisfied with my purchase.
Notably, they require an amplifier to function fully. Unfortunately, my amplifier just broke, so the sound is not as rich.
Έχοντας κατα νου το τί ήχο μπορείς να ακούσεις για τα λεφτά που θα δώσεις σε αυτό, θα τα χαρακτήριζα μέτρια. Με τη καμία όμως δεν είναι ένα κακό ζευγάρι ακουστικών και μένω ευχαριστημένος που τα αγόρασα.
Αξιοσημείωτο το γεγονός οτι χρειάζονται έναν ενισχυτή για να λειτουργήσουν πλήρως. δυστυχώς, ο δικός μου ενισχυτής μόλις χάλασε οπότε ο ήχος δεν είναι τόσο πλούσιος.
A review I read here convinced me to get them, and they are really exceptional for their price.
The bass is much better than I have heard with any other headphones (and I have tried many in my life), to the point that many songs I listened to with other headphones gain a whole new, almost different dimension. So far, this has impressed me the most.
I definitely recommend them.
They are lightweight and don't bother my ears like other headphones I had, but maybe because I have a small head/ears.
Also, they must be very good at sound isolation because I couldn't hear external noises that I would hear with other headphones (even noise-canceling ones).
TL;DR: 5/5, would recommend.

Το μπάσο είναι πολύ καλύτερο απ ότι το έχω ακούσει με οποιαδήποτε άλλα ακουστικα (και έχω δοκιμάσει πολλά στη ζωή μου), σε βαθμό που πολλά τραγούδια που άκουγα με άλλα ακουστικά αποκτούν μια ολοκαίνουρια, σχεδόν διαφορετική διάσταση. Μέχρι στιγμής αυτό μου έχει κάνει μεγαλύτερη εντύπωση.
Σίγουρα τα προτείνω.
Είναι ελαφριά και δε με ενοχλούν στα αυτιά όπως άλλα ακουστικά που είχα, αλλά ίσως επειδή έχω μικρό κεφάλι/αυτιά.
Επίσης πρέπει να είναι πολύ καλά στην ηχομόνωση γιατί δε μπορούσα να ακούσω εξωτερικούς θορύβους που θα άκουγα με άλλα ακουστικά (ακόμα και ηχομονωτικά).

It is lightweight, but not as comfortable as I expected and feels a bit heavy. Someone with a smaller head might find them more comfortable. However, they are not terribly uncomfortable, you just feel a little stiffness in the ear cushions after 2-3 hours. Personally, I wear them for 8-10 hours a day at work.
The build quality is average, everything is plastic but it seems like it will hold up. This is something we will see in the future.
The cable is quite long, I would have liked it to be detachable. You can't easily fold them in any way to transport them.
The appearance is very nice, but that is subjective.
The isolation of external sounds is quite good, especially for this price range. More expensive solutions are much better, but the HD 200 Pro does its job adequately in this area.
I haven't received any complaints from my colleagues when I turn up the volume. However, I think they sound a bit loud to others at high volume. In an office environment, where there is already a certain level of noise, it is imperceptible. Maybe for home use at night, while the other person is sleeping and you want to listen to dubstep at full volume, they may not be ideal.
The sound quality is excellent, to the point where you seriously consider whether it is worth getting more expensive headphones. Personally, up to €150, I don't think you can find other headphones with better sound. Beyond that, you go for Audio Technica M50x.
The sound balance is very good and the bass is neutral (as it should be) and doesn't have much distortion when you increase the volume.
Personally, I listen to music flat, but you can use an equalizer to adjust the sound as you like, and it gives you a lot of room to play around before the sound starts to distort.
In conclusion, I recommend them.

Είναι ελαφριά, αλλά δεν είναι τόσο άνετα όσο περίμενα και τα αισθάνεσαι λίγο πιο βαριά. Ενδεχομένως κάποιος που έχει μικρότερο κεφάλι να τα θεωρεί πιο άνετα. Πάντως δεν είναι τραγικά άβολα, απλά νιώθεις λίγο τη σκληρότητα στα μαξιλαράκια μετά από 2-3 ώρες. Εγώ προσωπικά τα φοράω 8-10 ώρες την ημέρα στη δουλειά.
Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι μέτρια, όλο είναι πλαστικό αλλά φαίνεται ότι μάλλον θα κρατήσει. Αυτό είναι κάτι που θα το δούμε στο μέλλον.
Το καλώδιο είναι αρκετά μακρύ, θα ήθελα να είναι αποσπώμενο. Δεν μπορείς να τα διπλώσεις με κάποιο τρόπο εύκολα, ώστε να τα μεταφέρεις.
Η εμφάνιση είναι πολύ ωραία, αλλά αυτό είναι υποκειμενικό.
Η απομόνωση των εξωτερικών ήχων είναι αρκετά καλή, ειδικά για αυτή την κατηγορία τιμής. Πιο ακριβές λύσεις είναι πολύ καλύτερες, αλλά τα HD 200 Pro κάνουν τη δουλειά τους επαρκώς σε αυτόν τον τομέα.
Δε μου έχουν κάνει παράπονα όταν το βάζω πολύ δυνατά οι συνάδελφοι μου. Νομίζω όμως ότι ακούγονται λίγο στους άλλους σε υψηλή ένταση. Σε περιβάλλον γραφείου, που υπάρχει ένα επίπεδο θορύβου έτσι και αλλιώς, είναι ανεπαίσθητα. Ίσως για σπίτι το βράδυ, ενώ ο άλλος κοιμάται και εσύ θες να ακούσεις dubstep στο τέρμα, να μην είναι ιδανικά.
Η ποιότητα του ήχου είναι εξαιρετική, σε σημείο να σκέφτεσαι πολύ σοβαρά αν αξίζει να πάρεις πιο ακριβά ακουστικά. Προσωπικά μέχρι τα 150€, δε νομίζω ότι μπορείς να βρεις άλλα ακουστικά με καλύτερο ήχο. Πιο μετά, πας σε Audio Technica M50x.
Η ισορροπία του ήχου είναι πολύ καλή και το μπάσο είναι ουδέτερο (όπως πρέπει δηλαδή) και δεν έχει μεγάλη παραμόρφωση όταν το δυναμώνεις.
Εγώ προσωπικά ακούω μουσική flat, αλλά μπορείς με ένα equalizer να προσαρμώσεις τον ήχο όπως θες και σου δίνει πολύ χώρο για να παίξεις πριν αρχίσει ο ήχος να παραμορφώνεται.
Nice fit on the head, good sound, long and convenient cable. The only downside is that they slightly emphasize the low frequencies, creating a false image of the bass, but nothing terrible once you get used to it and understand where they mislead you. Fair headphones for their price.
Ωραία εφαρμογή στο κεφάλι, καλός ήχος, μακρύ και βολικό καλώδιο. Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι πως τονίζουν ελαφρώς τις χαμηλές συχνότητες δημιουργόντας μια ψευδή εικόνα των μπάσων, αλλά τίποτα τρομερό άπαξ και τα συνηθίσεις και καταλαβαίνεις που σε ξεγελούν. Τίμια ακουστικά για τα χρήματά τους.
For its price and features, it is a worthwhile purchase. Truly, for someone who does not work professionally with sound, they will be pleasantly surprised. For a professional, they are not suitable. The price up to €50 is negotiable for purchase.
Για τα χρήματα του και τις ιδιότητες του είναι μια αξιόλογη αγορά. Πραγματικά για κάποιον που δεν ασχολείται επαγγελματικά με τον ήχο θα εκπλαγεί από ενθουσιασμό. Για έναν επαγγελματία δεν κάνουν. Η τιμή έως 50€ είναι συζητήσιμη για αγορά.
Really it's incredible! I'm editing and I have them on the camera to hear the sound coming from the microphone to the receiver. Really they are not just good, they are probably the best headphones for their price for this job!
