  • Good for branches but does not shred leaves. I bought it to shred leaves and grass to help with composting. The leaves and grass come out whole, just as they went in. I would not buy it again.

This machine shredded, in about 100 hours (timed), a 1.5-acre forest of 30-40 years old.

I don't have a completely clear picture because I was using it with a 2.8kw generator with a 3.2kw peak, and when it required more power, the generator's fuse would blow, so we haven't learned its full 100% power yet, but its thermal protection never kicked in.

The machine was working almost non-stop from morning until late at night, almost under the sun (trees).

Because I made a big mistake the first time I used it and it took us 4 hours to unblock it with a lot of force (sledgehammer and crowbar), the trick we discovered is to screw all the way in the bolt that adjusts the distance of the gear from the counter bar.

This achieves two things: first, whatever you put in up to its limit (4 cm diameter), from thin branches to thick ones, it shreds them, so you don't have to keep adjusting the bolt all the time.

Second, and more importantly, it prevents jamming because since it's tightened all the way, as soon as the first tooth encounters resistance, it spins backward and ejects the wood.

If you have the bolt loose, you'll have problems with green wood, which is like rubber; the first tooth will dig into the wood but won't go all the way and won't cut it, then the 2nd and 3rd teeth will pass, resulting in a jam that can't be reversed, and then you're stuck...

What I don't know is if it works on mains power, whether it has so much power that it doesn't jam or at least unjams itself.

The only thing I would improve is to make it easier to disassemble so that, in the worst case, you can unblock it more easily.

Oh, and a slightly longer power cable.

Sturdy, heavy machine, with a gear knife, shreds from very small twigs with the switch adjustment, up to the largest, as allowed, i.e., up to 4 cm.
After communicating with the company EINHELL, they assured me that there are spare gear knives, which will definitely be needed at some point.
The 4 stars, because it does not include: assembly instructions (a video on yt helped me) and a pusher for the branches. On very fresh branches with leaves, it sometimes jams, so you adjust/open the diameter and clean carefully after unplugging it; also, it grips the small ones and takes a while to expel them. If it doesn't clear them by itself, you have to unscrew the screws on top to remove whatever might be left, just to be clear.
It does its job well for an amateur gardener, though. Definitely at the end of the season, it needs to be opened and cleaned to be ready for the next year.
    Time will show its durability.
