Ulrike Rylance is an acclaimed German author, especially beloved for her children's and young adult books. She was born in 1968 in Jena, Germany. She studied English and German Philology. She lived for almost ten years in London, where she also worked as a German teacher. Since 2001, she has been living permanently in Seattle, USA, with her family.
