I have two identical ones. They are reliable and their speed is as expected. In the case of the second one I received, it was DOA. Of course, DOA can happen with all brands, especially in the post-coronavirus era.

I have had it for about a year and I work on it every day, it never shuts down. From the beginning, it was noisy and its performance has started to decline over time. But for its price, it is good

I have been using it on my media server for a month now. The server stays open 24 hours a day for several days. Everything is fine, no problems so far.

I bought two and both lasted for 40 seconds (the connection time with the PC). Both are damaged due to a hardware failure. I'm waiting for the third one and hoping it works. Of course, I have 19 years of experience in computers, so it's not a connection error or anything else. These things happen in mass production (CHINA)

Using for more than 2 years in a home studio recording mainly for backup has not presented the slightest problem!

For use on a desktop PC, even for games that do not have high data size requirements (you know what you'll get with 7200rpm...) it is the most economical solution if you want basic quality and reliability. I have installed 7-8 in desktop PCs with daily 7-9 hour office use and 4-5 in gaming PCs as storage space (2nd disk) for faster formatting without having to make a backup. In the last 4-5 years, I haven't heard any of them "crash".

If you overlook the noise it has compared to others in its category, in general it is a very good in terms of quality-price ratio!

I have bought 2 identical ones, one 1TB and the other one which is 2TB.
I put the first one in a CCTV camera recorder (operating 24/7) and the second one in my desktop computer as a secondary storage hard drive.
Despite the comments of other users below, I noticed that both are completely silent, fast, and reliable in both writing and reading.
I would buy them again.

After 3 months and minimal use, it presented a problem with the heads. Having now tried Toshiba, Seagate, and Western Digital, I consider WD to be a more reliable choice (they never had a problem).

After replacing the above disk, I find myself in a position to say that the second one also failed, in approximately the same time period and with the same usage... I suppose it's a defective batch...

I have had it for about 1 year, on a gaming pc.
It is loaded with programs, games, and files. While the operating system is on an SSD. It has undergone a lot of read-write operations over time and undergoes weekly scheduled defragmentation.

The speeds are as expected.
However, not the noise. It is really noisy. It is located in the drive bay of the Cougar MX330G.
I temporarily replaced it with a similar WD hard drive (to back it up and format it) and compared to the Toshiba, I couldn't hear anything at all.
It doesn't need a drive activity LED, you can hear the activity.

At first, I heard random clicks and was sure it was faulty. I contacted Toshiba about the issue but didn't receive any response. After extended use, the issue disappeared within about 3 months, and I didn't bother with it anymore.

However, I still worry about its reliability, to the point where I am considering replacing it before it's too late.

I got the disc today... the computer has been on all day for transfers and such... silent, the windows found it immediately from the disk manager... so far so good... time will tell, but they say it's been a good day since morning... I'll probably get another one

The first one they sent me never worked....as a true jinx, I fell into the defective one (I hope)....unless they were playing Jenga with the packages during transportation, who knows!!!! It acted like an ice machine and the PC wouldn't even turn on!!!
After a few days of delay, I received another new one yesterday......
So far, so good...time will tell.....
For a 7200, it's quiet....completely quiet though.....since at the beginning, until I entered Windows and saw it in disk management, I had a little brain freeze
And a bunch of GB of junk that I transferred from the SSD....muted!!!
As for speed, I have no one else to compare to.....the previous one I had, which gave up on me, was a Maxtor 80gb....haha even the stones are laughing!!!

I cloned a Seagate Barracuda 5-year-old on my Toshiba and it is faster (the Toshiba). Maybe it's because of the 64MB cache compared to the Barracuda's 32MB.
