[...] For the periods or the history of the Turkish language and literature, the Greek bibliography has to present the notable studies of Efstratios Zeginis and Ioannis Bakirtzis. However, we consider it imperative to further systematically cultivate the Turkish language and literature in the newly established university departments, which have included this subject in their curriculum. Because through the Turkish language and literature, we will gain a more complete knowledge of the social life, history, and culture of our neighbors, and indeed firsthand. This is basically the purpose of writing this book. To get to know as well as possible the literary and consequently the cultural production of the Turks.
