You MUST not let the water run out in its kettle (it should always have water when you turn it off, e.g., half a cup on the transparent screen).
Similarly, you MUST not let it turn off by itself.
WHY: (a) it will produce a plastic-tasting coffee or the coffee will be chemically plastic, which is dangerous and should be thrown away, (b) the heat sensor will break, and in the middle of brewing (in the middle of the amount of water) or even more often, the thermostat will turn off (the light continues to stay on), it will stop boiling, and after the thermostat cools down, it will start boiling again (broken).
The plastic taste is due to the overheating of the plastic in the boiling container (due to lack of water), so the plastic leaches (melts and flavors) into the water and comes to our mouth. The plastic taste disappears after one filling-boiling (with the water remaining in the boiling container, but the damage to the plastic has been done).

ΓΙΑΤΙ : (α) θα βγάζει πλαστικής γεύσης καφέ ή ο καφές θα είναι χημικό πλαστικό, τουτέστι επικίνδυνος και για πέταμα, (β) θα χαλάσει ο αισθητήρας θερμότητας και στην μέση του βρασίματος (στην μέση της ποσότητας νερου) ή και πιό συχνα θα σβήνει ο θερμοστάτης (το λαμπάκι συνεχίζει να ανάβει), θα σταματά το βράσιμο, και αφού κρυώσει ο θερμοστάτης θα ξεκινά πάλι το βράσιμο (σπασΡΧ/κο).
Η πλαστική γεύση οφείλεται στην υπερθέρμανση του πλαστικού στο δοχείο βρασμού (λόγω έλειψης νερού) οπότε το πλαστικό διαχέεται (λειώνει και οσμώνεται) με το νερό και μας έρχεται στο στόμα. I bought it for its cheap price, small and elegant size, short cable, and lack of unnecessary features like a timer or indicator lights, etc. I have it in my office and mainly use it for making tea. The brewing process for a full container (2.5 large tea cups) takes 7 minutes and the plate stays heated for another 30 before automatically turning off. The kettle goes in and out of its position very smoothly, and if you remove it during the brewing process, it doesn't drip or only drips a maximum of 1 drop onto the heated plate. Very satisfied!
