Texts that compose the chronicle of the critical two years 2014-16 and maintain their relevance as analyses of political choices and behaviors, as historical material, but also as forecasts of developments. The political adventurism and ruthless political rhetoric that deeply poisoned the feelings and way of thinking of Greek society, the tragic semester from the elections of January 2015 until the proclamation, conduct, and internal overturning of the referendum, the myth of the supposedly tough negotiation, the flirtation with Grexit, the magnitude and depth of the damage caused to the national economy by all this back-and-forth from the denunciation of the second to the signing of the third memorandum, the institutional derailment, the awkwardness regarding the refugee issue – just a few of the topics that Sakis Moumtzis analyzes.
As Evangelos Venizelos notes in the preface of the book, "We cannot say that the last two years have been dull. Quite the opposite. However, the cost of the performance that unfolds, as both drama and comedy simultaneously, during this period, is extremely high. The damage that has been inflicted will weigh on an entire generation."
The author follows and analyzes in depth the entire range of public discussion topics with a structured and coherent view, without any ideological complexes. In his writings, he records all aspects, all contradictions, all dangers, all possibilities. He analyzes, focuses, warns, returns, and proposes solutions and maneuvers. He now belongs to those who set the pace and tone of public discussion on a daily basis.
