This book is aimed at students of the natural and technological sciences in higher education. The subject of the book is very fundamental and useful throughout their studies (perhaps even beyond). Thus, students will frequently refer to it even after successfully passing the examinations for this course.
The presentation of various concepts and methods is based on the assumption that the reader has assimilated the notion of a vector and the operations involving vectors in two-dimensional space. Based on this, the study of vector operations, the equation of a line, and surfaces in three-dimensional space is conducted.
Further in the book, matrices and determinants of matrices are presented, with particular emphasis on operations among numbers. Based on the properties of matrices, the solution of linear systems is undertaken, and then the characteristic quantities of matrices are studied, which are among the most useful, practically speaking, concepts.
At the end of the book, vector spaces and linear mappings are examined. These chapters have, more or less, a theoretical character. Every effort has been made for simplicity and clarity.
With the hope that this book will be useful during study, I am available for any constructive comments or suggestions.
