It is a very good sewing machine for beginners. It has many stitching styles, you just need to know how to change the needle to sew thick fabric! The quality of the threads in the kit it provides is relatively good (only for thin fabric like sheets), it doesn't make a lot of noise but it's not silent either.     I struggled to sew a fur cover with velcro that also had glue on it. At some points, I had difficulty and it would stop (fortunately, because the needle would bend from the glue that accumulated on it) and I needed to clean it with a little oil or carefully turn the cylinder manually for it to pass through. At some point, the bobbin gear slipped a step and it wouldn't gather the thread, but I easily fixed it with a screwdriver without even having to undo anything. I did not use it with batteries. Overall, it is worth buying.
