Description

Description

A unique watch with GPS and WiFi that combines sports, adventure, and style.

Dual Navigation Networks

Each watch in the fēnix 5 series is equipped with a GPS and GLONASS satellite receiver for better tracking in the most demanding environments. You can rely on the long battery life in every mode (varies by model, depends on settings). To be even more confident that you can go anywhere, all fēnix 5 models are waterproof up to 10ATM (100m).

Excellent Screen Clarity

The color, bright, high-resolution Garmin Chroma display with LED backlighting is readable in all environmental conditions. The Reflective technology that reflects and transmits light at the same time makes the watch screen even more readable in bright sunlight.

Heart rate measurement from the wrist

On your wrist, the Elevate heart rate technology allows you to monitor your heart rate without needing to wear a chest strap. In addition to step counting and sleep tracking, the watch uses heart rate to provide information on calories and the intensity of your sports activities.

Complete your style with interchangeable straps.

A variety of QuickFit straps of your choice from quality leather, metal, or silicone makes it very easy to mix and match styles to participate in any activity without changing your watch. No tools are needed to make the change. Just choose a strap and snap it on with a click.

Advanced Running Dynamics

Now you can go even further with your running data. Garmin's training features make extensive use of comprehensive fitness measurements and advanced running dynamics functionality to help you improve the way you run and your overall performance.

Profiles for Swimming, Skiing, Paddle Sports, Golf, and More

Beyond running functions, the fēnix 5 series watches also offer specialized features to help you with swimming training, skiing, golf, and paddle sports, including SUP and rowing. For swimmers, the device records distance, pace, stroke count, and even more.

Well guys, let me write my own review on how I found this watch. It is expensive, okay. Now, because I hear that the battery cannot be changed, the battery does change but when it needs to be changed in 5 to 6 years, I will buy the fenix 10. I don't think many of you change the battery in your phones. You go and get another phone. I'm talking about the average user, not the one who changes phones every 6 months. Now, two things that I was very anxious and curious about, and that made me thoroughly research it before buying it. Battery personally lasts 12 days with use as a watch with smart notifications and with the heart rate monitor activated when I need it for running, swimming, cycling, etc. I don't need it when I'm sitting in the living room to know my heart rate. The heart rate monitor consumes a lot of battery. With 3 days of running 30 minutes a week, we're at 10 days. The more you use the GPS, it's logical that it consumes battery. 4% in half an hour with GPS and heart rate monitor, calculate that. Now the screen. Excellent in outdoor environments. Not at all indoors, but there are many reasons for that. The screen is designed for outdoor activities. No matter how much sun there is, it has no problem, it's excellent. This doesn't mean that indoors it's terrible, just that the backlight is a bit dim. I bought it for 484, a good price, and I'm generally satisfied. If there is any problem, I will come back with an update.

Unfortunately, I have a problem with the watch battery. It only lasts for 3 days. If you search on various forums, you will see that there are others with the same problem. Even with software upgrades, hard-soft reset, disabling various functions, the issue is not resolved... It's a shame because otherwise it is a wonderful watch with reliable measurements that you don't want to take off your wrist.

26/02/2019: For the past few days, after continuous emails and complaints from various users on forums, Garmin provided an update and the issue, not for all, but for most devices (including mine) was resolved. I believe it was a minor setback, as the watch is very useful and very beautiful.

03/05/2019: Unfortunately, the battery problem has returned. The watch was returned, as it likely belongs to the batch of defective ones that are circulating and occasionally have autonomy issues depending on the software version provided by Garmin.

4/7/2019: The watch was replaced by the company. The "new" one seems to have the same autonomy as the supplier's standards. Taking this into account, yes, it is one of the top, maybe the top, watches available on the market.
