This book provides a basic introduction to "Risk Theory" and was prepared as part of the university lectures for the corresponding course taught in the Department of Statistics at the Athens University of Economics and Business.
The content in the initial chapters mainly focuses on "static" models for describing risks over a time period, while the later chapters reference (and expand on) "dynamic" models, particularly in relation to "bankruptcy theory."
Additionally, a separate chapter presents the interactions between Control Theory and Risk Theory, along with the original design of insurance systems as developed over the last two decades.
Finally, references are made to practical issues in insurance and financial systems, and a special chapter is dedicated to the risk management of insurance organizations.
