In the crisis that the Greek economy is currently facing, the need for new fundamental options regarding the country's direction is becoming apparent. The term "development model" is often used for countries that have achieved a remarkable leap in their relative position in the global economy in a short period of time.
However, experience teaches us that such models cannot be copied. Every country, every society has its own characteristics, its own value system, different standards of perceptions, and relationships of interests and social-political behaviors that determine its course and "limit" its options.
This volume examines the differences between Greece and other "development models," the major issues of the Greek economy today, and the problems for which the choices we make will determine our path for at least the next decade.
