tl dr: Buy it yesterday... not today... YESTERDAY!

I am a fan of JRPGs, especially turn-based games. Last year, I bought the base version of this game on sale through the PS Store, thinking it would be just a simple JRPG... I was so wrong... I have about 17 years of gaming experience in my life, and I easily rank this game in the top 3. The experience with it was flawless, the music was wonderful, the gameplay was amazing. Just when you think it has shown you everything and you're about to spend 60 hours repeating the same mechanics, it surprises you with new mechanics. It surprises you with upgraded personas. It surprises you with plot twists that you enjoy. You think you're at the final boss? Surprise, another plot twist, and you get to play with 15 more bosses. I can't believe I've ever been so sad about a game ending, even though it lasted 100 hours of gameplay. The characters have depth, the story unfolds beautifully. You step into the shoes of the characters and understand what they feel. The graphics are beautiful with vibrant colors. I reached a point (because I was wearing headphones and couldn't hear) where I was shouting alone in my living room at 3 in the morning with my character, PERSONA. Whatever I say is not enough for this MASTERPIECE. I truly believe I won't find another game that I will enjoy as much. As soon as I finish some games from my list and run out, I will buy the PS5 Royal steelbook for the first time in my life to enjoy even more the extra mechanics and extra bosses.

One of the best JRPGs of all time, better than Persona 4 Golden for comparison.

Fantastic characters and art direction, classic turn-based battles, impressive Personas, and one of the best soundtracks in the series. In addition to these, the dating mechanic has evolved a lot and is almost a game on its own. However, it is strictly a game for fans of the genre. Due to its many mechanics, duration, and peculiarities in design (dialogues, world, dating, etc.), it will hardly keep someone without patience or knowledge of the genre. Grinding, especially for some late game Palaces (dungeons), is hard work.

It is a game that may require even a three-digit number of hours to enjoy and say that you have seen and done a lot. Even if you try to go fast, it will not take less than 50 hours, so be prepared either for something you will play for months with breaks, or for something that will keep your console occupied for several weeks.

If you plan to give it the attention and time it needs, then it will be an unforgettable experience.

A year ago, I got the PS4 and had my eye on the game before I acquired the console.

I am a fan of JRPGs and this particular one enchanted me. If you are a fan of JRPGs or RPG elements in general, then I highly recommend it.

It is worth the money solely based on the game length, which is around 100 hours for "normal" gameplay. If you are the type of person who will explore everything in a game, then you are covered for endless hours of gameplay.

I am at 30 hours and I am not even halfway through, and I haven't gotten bored for a single moment. The story is very nice and makes you care about the characters, their daily lives, and their interactions with other characters, whether they are friendly or romantic.

The combat system is classic turn-based with normal attacks, skills (depending on the persona you have), and the ability to inspect enemy weaknesses/resistances, etc.

The Persona capture and fuse system is very interesting because your enemy can become your ally if you capture them, and with fusion, there are many possibilities for the persona that will come out and the skills you want it to have. It gives you the option to create the perfect persona for yourself and the attributes you want, whether it is an element like fire/wind/ice, etc., or buffs/debuffs/heals, etc.

For me, Persona 5 is worth 100%, get it and you won't regret it.

Persona 5 is not only the first JRPG I have played, but it is also the first thing that has to do with Japanese culture that I have engaged with in my life, so those of you who are not interested in Anime and Japanese culture, and are worried about its price or if it's worth getting, maybe my opinion will be useful to you.
Having played games like Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 and The Last of Us, I can comfortably say that the story of Persona 5 is definitely one of the favorite stories I have played in a game. It is huge (80 - 100+ hours) but it is so well-written and so beautiful that you won't want it to end.
Gameplay-wise, the game is flawless. It has a very good turn-based combat with a huge variety of abilities, characters, items, and mechanics. The social sim aspect of the game (social stats, side stories, roaming, etc.) is very well-crafted and for some strange reason, it is the most addictive thing I have played. The variety of Personas (something like Pokémon) that you can collect is also very large with many different Personas, beautiful designs, and interesting lores.
Overall, everything related to the gameplay of the game is very good and very entertaining, so it doesn't disappoint.
The characters are fantastic with great voice overs in English and I really liked their dialogues.
The quality of the graphics is not impressive for a Ps4 game, in the year 2017, but the Art Style of the game is amazing! The game has such comfort and style that makes you feel cool just by looking at it.
Also, the music is amazing, definitely one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a game.
The only complaints I have about the game are that the freedom it gives you is not enough to cover all the useful content it provides. Also, the pacing of the game has some ups and downs after the first 10 hours, which are amazing, but after the 5th story arc, the pacing not only goes up, it gains momentum and doesn't stop.

To sum it up: Wonderful story with fantastic characters, flawless gameplay, beautiful Art Style, amazing music, and a lot of content but relatively limited freedom and small pacing fluctuations.

In the 1.5 years that I have been playing on the Ps4, I have played many games, but really, almost nothing comes close to Persona 5. A JRPG that if I didn't know it existed, I would never have played it and I am very surprised that this game, out of nowhere, is so high in my heart.
I can't believe, not only how good Persona 5 is as a game, but also that it managed to become my favorite game of all time so easily.

It is the first one I try from the Persona series. Fortunately, I finished it with over 120 hours of gameplay. This gem from Atlus is one of the best JRPGs ever. The story is unique and educational at the same time. Essentially, you are school children who through your daily lives, uncover daily problems of corruption, not only in adults. So, through some special powers, you can 'change their hearts' so that they confess everything for the good of society, if we can put it that way. The art style and music are very unique and distinctive. The battles and enemies are the same, as everything is infused with a distinct artistic approach. There are so many things to do as the days and seasons progress normally in the game, along with school exams. Just be careful with time management every time a mission arises. It is incredibly worth buying, especially if you are a fan of the genre, and you will spend countless hours, which is truly rewarding. Even the New Game + gives you the motivation to engage with the world again if you wish.

I bought it and I'm thrilled even though I'm not a big anime fan and if I wasn't, I believe I would still love the game.

Pros: It's very big and you'll enjoy your time playing it, it doesn't get monotonous at all because you can switch from "normal to adventurous life".
The graphics on the PS4 are very good, even though it runs at 1080p and 30 fps, it still looks amazing.
The story will captivate you and you'll get hooked.
Cons: Some people might get tired of the dialogues, which take some time to understand the story, but if you want to sit in front of the console for a couple of hours, you can fast forward through them to save time, although you'll miss out on the story because a lot is explained in the dialogues.
I don't like that the protagonist doesn't talk much compared to the other characters, even though he speaks in very few parts.

I hope you buy it and you won't regret it, it usually appeals to people who focus on the story and don't rush, it takes around 80-90 hours for the first playthrough. It has a lot of story and nice graphics, personally I consider it one of the best games I've ever played in my life. Thank you for your time, I hope I helped.

Also, something you may have noticed is that there is another version of the game at a different price, the difference with the "regular" version is only the change of character skins and the ability to unlock specific personas at a certain level, without changing the animations or anything else, like the voices. The only thing that changes is the battle music with the skins. I should note that this is the only difference and no other, because I initially got confused due to the price difference...

I forgot to mention some details for you, the potential buyer:
If you haven't bought it yet, I recommend buying it blindly because it will be worth every euro you spent, as you will spend many enjoyable hours. The battle system is turn-based, with enemies having weaknesses to things like fire, ice, etc. After school, you continue with your school life and you can roam around the open world of Tokyo. There, you can engage in various activities such as baseball, eating burgers, going to the cinema, exercising, basically anything you do in real life, you can do in the game. Of course, some people might find this tiring because, for example, I have seen myself doing so many activities in one day, but the game tells me "manage your time properly because night will come and you need to go to bed early for school," and I get annoyed because I wanted to go to the cinema after a certain appointment. I haven't noticed any other negatives. Also, I should note that the game is so big that I played for 32.50 hours and I was only around 2/10 of the game (approximately). Lastly, something that bothered many people, not me personally, is that there is a lot of dialogue and you have to press and wait to read it in order to understand the plot. Of course, you can make the dialogue go faster, but then you'll miss out on the story. And for example, if you come back from work and have free time for 2 hours, the 2 hours might literally be spent only on dialogue in the game.

Edit: 17-7-2018: Personally, it took me 106 hours to finish it and I was playing normally, neither rushing to reach the end nor playing too slowly. I enjoyed it as a game, it's worth every euro.

If you like JRPGs, it's a must, and if you hate JRPGs, it's still a must!

In a time when all RPGs take place in fantastical medieval or futuristic worlds, the Persona games take place in the modern era and are based on pop culture and urban myths.

In these games, it is equally important for your character to have a realistic life as it is to defeat demons from people's personalities. They are among the few role-playing games where you actually role-play. The battles are like Pokemon for adults, they go extremely fast, and they are quite enjoyable to engage in rather than avoid. Like the previous two games, whether you live your life or fight in dungeons, both are extremely addictive, and the story tackles delicate subjects that any other game would fear.

In Persona 5 specifically, the theme is social outcasts and rebellion, and it has many improvements and additions compared to the previous ones (which is logical since the previous ones were made for the PS2). The game lasts about 100 hours, and you won't get bored for a minute. The asynchronous multiplayer is minimal, where you simply see other players' choices or they give you small hints in the dungeons. Overall, the game is single-player.

One of the best turn-based Jrpgs of recent years has finally arrived in Europe, as it has been released in Japan for several months now.

In terms of graphics, the game stands out for the incredible attention to detail that has been given to everything. Even the loading screens (which there are quite a few of) have been carefully designed. Overall, it closely resembles an anime series, and that's a good thing. The game also has great bonus content and cinematic sequences that feel like you're watching a TV show.

The sound design is also very well done, especially in the battle music. Personally, I would have liked a bit more variety in terms of music, considering the game lasts for over 80 hours.

As for gameplay, the battle system is quite reminiscent of Pokémon, with the monsters/personas having their own weaknesses, which you can of course capture (over 200 in total) with some natural adjustments and changes through the addition of weapons. The large dungeons (palaces) this time around are thankfully not random like in previous games. In general, the game has become simpler and easier for new players in the series.

In other aspects, the game runs in the classic 1080p 30fps, and its duration (depending on the difficulty level) can reach 85-100 hours, with the existence of a new game plus.

The social simulation aspect might disappoint some people, as it's not very common in most games. However, overall it's one of the most important additions to the Japanese RPG genre (and not only), and it's recommended for all PS4 owners, especially now that it has a more affordable price (although it's worth the full price for this game).
