The unspeakable: "that which cannot be announced by someone," "that which we do not acknowledge," the "unrevealed," the "hidden," "that which cannot easily be described or referred to due to the inappropriateness of its content." One can hardly find a more suitable application and use of the term than in matters concerning the history and position of minorities within the Greek legal order.

The revelation of the unspeakable is often a painful process. Not only because it familiarizes us with the unutterable, but mainly because it demystifies what we have learned...
