I have a lot of good things to say and one bad thing, so I will start with the bad thing to get it out of the way, and that is also the reason why I gave it 4 stars.

So, I'll start with the bad thing, which is the controllers (joy-cons). If you don't already know, they easily experience drifting, and of course, there are two plus one options for that. The extra option is to simply buy new ones. The other two options are as follows: One is to send them to Nintendo at your own expense for repair or replacement if they cannot be repaired, or to have a spare kit that costs around 15 euros the last time I checked, and if you're a bit handy, the replacement is relatively easy. Again, this is not the main issue because you know about it and there is an easy solution. My issue is that while playing a game in handheld mode, the joy-con on the right "disconnects" from the console. I have tried resetting the console, resetting the controllers, and re-pairing them from scratch, blowing on them in case there is any dust causing poor contact, but nothing works. I also noticed that this particular joy-con can move forward and backward (towards and away from me) more than it should. And the icing on the cake is that I have only had the console for a month, and I play a maximum of 4-5 hours per week, mostly casual games like Mario Odyssey. It's unacceptable for something like this to happen after such little use. As a last resort before giving up and getting another joy-con, I tried cleaning it with a cotton swab and a little alcohol on the areas that make contact with the switch and its accessories (such as the joy-con grip included in the package), as well as the area that makes contact with the switch, since I noticed that the problem only occurs in handheld mode.

I will be concise about the positives since I think they are more or less well-known. By far the most innovative gaming device out there despite its not-so-powerful hardware, as the games developed exclusively for the Switch (Zelda, Mario, etc.) make the most of it and eliminate these limitations. The reason to get this console is not the hardware and the impressive graphics, but the hybrid model that suits almost any gaming situation you want to be in, and of course, its game library. Personally, it wasn't a problem for me to spend an extra 100-150 euros to get a PS5. I wanted to get this specific console because it has been incredibly convenient for me during my travels, especially those nights in a hotel when you're bored and have nothing to do until you fall asleep, but also when I'm at home and want to relax and play a game with my family. For me, this console has a specific target audience, and I believe it meets their needs and more.

One tip before I finish regarding the controllers and for anyone who wants to get an extra switch controller, especially for docked mode: There is no need to spend 70-80 euros on the Switch Pro Controller. There is the 8bitDo Pro 2 that does the job even better than the Nintendo controller, and it can be connected to PC, Mac, Android, in addition to the Switch. It costs 50 euros and offers much more since it has an application for customization on PC and mobile, as well as two extra buttons on the back that can be bound as a button of your choice (it would help in games like Fortnite where you have several buttons to press for building, editing, etc).

TL;DR: Wonderful console with innovation in its design based on the hybrid model for handheld and docked gaming, but the joy-cons are terrible.

The console is much better than the rest by a large margin. I had it almost since it was released (I bought it 4 months later) and I had many games that couldn't be missing from my collection (Mario kart 8 deluxe, splatoon 2, super smash bros ultimate, pokken tournament, etc.). Unfortunately, I made the mistake of selling them all, along with the console, to get the PlayStation VR because I thought it was worth more. In the end, not only was it not worth more, but I regret it every day that I did it! I'm not saying the VR experience is not great, but nothing compares to the switch! Now I plan to buy it again with everything I lost as soon as possible.

Conclusion: 1) You won't regret investing in the console for at least 5 years. 2) If you sell it in the future, you will regret it very badly. 3) It is the best console, both in features and performance! And just the fact that it can be used as a portable and home console with a single move, IT'S SOMETHING ELSE!!! Buy it with your eyes closed!!!!!

As a console, it can't be compared to Xbox/PS (I have an Xbox One S) because it's something completely different in terms of game character and usage. The big, huge advantage of the Switch is its portability, something you won't believe how much you missed until now. Yes, on its screen it only outputs 720p and not the 1080p that it outputs on the TV, but even just the convenience of being able to take the game with you wherever you go is incomparable. Although I have small hands, I can't say that the joy-cons designed for Japanese people were uncomfortable for me, but you can get cheap plastic bases that look like regular controllers. There are also adapters to connect controllers from Xbox, Wii, PS, Gamecube, etc. if you don't like them and want to use other controllers you have at home.

Two things you need to be careful about from the beginning are:

a) Put a screen protector on it, it's not like the glass on phones, it's plastic and scratches easily. Don't wait to order an expensive/good one, get a cheap one to protect it from the first day and then order the best one. And of course, don't throw it in a bag loosely, but get a hard shell case (there are cheap ones on eBay), after all, you have 300 euros in your hands.

b) Many docks have a narrow opening and leave marks on the back and screen when you put them in to play on the TV. There are various dock socks that you put on top to prevent the console from scratching, so look for them.

Apart from these two constructional disadvantages, however, it's a very good solution for gaming everywhere.

I have to say that it's definitely one of the best consoles that have been released. Unfortunately, it's a very underrated console in Greece and generally in Europe. I think many of us have misunderstood its games and Nintendo as a company in general. I don't regret a single euro I've spent on any Nintendo! And I say this because I was thinking of getting it for a while and my friends were saying:
-What are you going to do with it?
-A portable console? Play on your phone instead..
-You're a grown man, are you going to play Super Mario?
-The graphics are terrible, get a proper console.

In the end, I wrote them off, went and got it and haven't regretted it for a second!
It has a huge variety of games, there are more coming that we don't expect, the art direction in its titles is on another level, and there are many ways to play each game, either with joycon or with controllers, plus it has unlimited accessories to make the most of it!

Moral lesson:
It's not about how good the graphics are or how hard a game is.
The magic lies in the nostalgia, the aesthetics, the old and new experiences that Nintendo's games offer you!

As soon as I opened the box and set it up on my TV, I was amazed. What Nintendo has created is fascinating. The whole concept of the Switch is that you can play on your TV or in handheld mode. It's not magic that I can play Zelda (in high resolution on my TV) and take the adventure with me when I'm on the go, it's just a great idea. As for the console's exclusives, wow. There's a wealth of games like Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, Splatoon 2, and many anticipated titles like Super Mario Maker 2, Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword, and Animal Crossing. Now, as for third-party games, Nintendo is better than ever with games like DOOM, Skyrim, NBA, Mortal Kombat, and more. Of course, these games won't look as good on a Nintendo console, but the fact that you can play DOOM in a cafe is impressive. The only complaint I have is the price of the games. If you want to have a complete experience on the Switch, you might have to spend a bit more (that's why I bought my Switch used), but otherwise, you won't be disappointed. (Also, I should mention the versatility of the controllers, which is also a great idea.)

I believe we can all agree that the Wii U was a failure for Nintendo. From the marketing to the games it had, it just didn't work out. However, its successor didn't suffer the same fate. I've been a Nintendo Switch owner since July and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with the console. It wouldn't be unfair to call it the console for "Indie" games. Honestly, if you take a look at the Switch store, you'll see hundreds of indie games. Of course, there's a great variety in games and of course in exclusives. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I believe, is a major reason to get the console (and the upcoming main core Pokemon game, of course). So far, I've noticed the following negatives:
- Short battery life in handheld mode
- High price for games that are ports from other consoles
- You have to pay for online (20 euros, but you didn't have to pay for online in previous Nintendo consoles).
In conclusion, I believe the Nintendo Switch is worth its money, it seems that Nintendo is desperately chasing the first place for 2019.

I'm doing the review a bit late, even though I got it at launch.

The Switch is definitely worth its money, especially if you plan on playing mainly first-party and second-party exclusives, which are not lacking on the Switch, as well as on any other Nintendo console (VirtualBoy doesn't count lmao). It has some good ports from third-party games (see Skyrim, L.A. Noire, etc.), but many third-party games have not received the necessary attention they could have in terms of performance and overall quality. Of course, good third-party games are not many, so don't expect anything similar to PS4/XB1. However, if you are Nintendo Fans (like me) or want a good portable gaming experience, then the Switch is definitely worth it, and more. Overall, it is a very good experience, whether you choose to play Handheld or Docked, and its performance for a portable console is incredible, as with 1tflop it is much more powerful than its predecessor, the Wii U with 0.3tflop, due to its powerful processor, which is none other than the nvidia Tegra X1, with good graphics for a portable device. As for its controllers, which are the joy-cons, I believe they are very high quality and have many features, although I believe they have not been utilized enough yet. It is also a very good choice if you play splitscreen with siblings/friends, due to the design of the joy-cons, which can be removed from the device and can become 2 separate controllers. Accordingly, they can be used together outside the console, which for me is by far the most convenient experience on a console, or in the grip that comes in the package, if you prefer traditional controllers. The Pro Controller, which does not come with the Switch package, is also excellent, and I believe it is necessary for competitive games, such as smash and splatoon. It has excellent build quality and layout, and if it had analog triggers (which Nintendo seems to hate since it put them first only on the GameCube), it would be the best controller for me, because it fits in my hands like a glove.

The only complaint for me is the quality of the joycons, as even though they are excellent and convenient controllers, their sticks are of mediocre quality, so much so that after 2 years of frequent use, the right stick tends to stay there when I move it up or down, not in reality, but the switch realizes it. It's not something very serious for most games, and replacing the stick is cheap, although it cancels the warranty as soon as you open the controller. I don't consider it very serious, however, I think I should mention it. Also, the Wi-Fi range is relatively mediocre, but it didn't personally affect me.

tl;dr: A fairly powerful portable console, with many exclusives and third-party games. I highly recommend it to anyone who plays Nintendo Games or is looking for a good portable gaming experience.
