Description

The Yongnuo YN685-N is a powerful ITTL Speedlite Flash, compatible with Nikon cameras. It features the built-in Yongnuo 622 radio frequency system (receiver only) and can be used as a Slave unit off-camera. It has a maximum guide number GN 60 (ISO 100, zoom 200mm) and a zoom range of 20-200mm. It supports high-speed sync (FP HSS) function, allowing synchronization with shutter speeds up to 1/8000. It is fully compatible with Yongnuo YN622-N - YN622-N-TX and YN-603/605 – YN560-TX frequency systems as well as with the Speedlite Flash YN560-IV.

    For amateur use with D3300 indoors (bounce + iTTL) the results are amazing. The batteries last quite a while. Very powerful 200mm zoom.
    Bulkier than the YN 560 iii and better built.
    Probably a downside that it can't be triggered by another flash.

    Adding after some time of use. The TTL measures at the center of the frame regardless of the Spot, Center Weight, or Matrix metering selection. So, for example, if you have a face that is not in the center, it won't be properly lit if the background is dark. It comes out overexposed. With the built-in flash, the metering is correct, as with Nikon flashes.

    It has a built-in wireless transceiver that allows wireless control (Full Manual, HSS, and iTTL) from the Yongnuo YN-622N-TX transmitter.

    2025 Attention: TTL does not work on z6 ii and probably on mirrorless cameras, there is incompatibility, it only works in manual. I even upgraded it but nothing changed.
