This edition was deemed necessary, as until now there seems to be no comprehensive textbook containing fundamental knowledge of physiotherapeutic rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries.
It is based on long-term experience, both as an educator and a freelancer. It primarily addresses physiotherapy students and physiotherapists, as well as doctors of specific specialties who wish to gain knowledge about the applications of physiotherapeutic means.
It is based on the detailed curriculum of the physiotherapy school at A.T.E.I.TH., as well as on international literature. Through the book, the opportunity to approach physiotherapeutic assessment and consequently rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries is provided.
Today, the concept of rehabilitation encompasses the entire spectrum of physiotherapy in the preoperative and postoperative stages of most medical specialties. In combination with the rapid developments in the field, many colleagues have turned to more specialized methods and techniques, aiming for the best possible rehabilitation.
Thus, according to international literature and based on personal experience, the rehabilitation program varies from person to person, resulting in the protocols being modified accordingly.
In conclusion, regarding the writing of this book, an effort was made to be as simple and understandable as possible in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, using indicative programs and exercises in the stages of immobilization - mobilization - strengthening, provided there is a doctor's order.
The division of chapters was made according to the rehabilitation program followed by the physiotherapist and is not fully compatible with established orthopedic textbooks.
