Very good quality, sturdy handle... you enjoy holding it!! I remove one star because although you will never get cut using it, I would have liked it to be more "aggressive"!!

I have never shaved so easily and also so bloodlessly. I combined it with Astra blades and just smooth skin without any injuries!!!

Game changer from classic supermarket razors, it completely changed my perspective on shaving and all the rashes I used to get from supermarket razors are gone. It definitely takes some practice though, it took me a few shaves to reduce the small cuts.

The Mühle R89 is a razor that anyone can use and will like. It is sturdy, reliable, and always gives a good result. If you want to switch to traditional shaving, it is a very safe and enjoyable choice. A good choice for replacement blades are the Astra Green, BIG Astor, Gillette Nacet, Gillette Silver Blue, or if you want something more aggressive, the Feather, Perma Sharp. I use soap and not cream.

Mild closed comb razor, ideal for beginners or even experienced users looking for a milder razor.
Ideal for people with sparse beards and normal/sensitive skin.
With a sharp blade (Feather-Permasharp etc.) and quality shaving soap, it gives a close shave without irritation.
It won't easily handle a 10-day beard, but for daily use or shaving a 2-3 day beard, it's just right.
Overall, this is a very good razor, with excellent build quality, ideal for those just entering the world of traditional shaving.

It is a very mild razor. If combined with a mild blade, it does not cut at all and to get a decent result you have to make several passes, irritating your skin and still....
I have sensitive skin and coarse beard and unfortunately this was my first razor. The result was that it did not shave me well and left me with a lot of irritation. I got a slant and everything changed as if by magic. In conclusion, one must try different types of razors and blades in order to find out what suits their skin best.

If you are a beginner, first watch a video on how to use these machines. They require two to three passes. Don't think that you are buying some laser machine that will get everything in one go. I find it very difficult to cut yourself, if not impossible. The result, depending on the blade that suits you, is very good. Also, irritation and ingrown hairs are reduced, which is important for someone who has issues with these two. Generally, if you have the passion and willingness to dedicate time to your shaving, this is an ideal case. If you want something quick, go for the classic plastic ones with many blades, but expect more irritation and ingrown hairs

I have very sensitive skin, with coarse facial hair, that gets irritated very easily. With this particular razor, I had a little irritation and the alcoholic aftershave didn't sting me much. It's a mild razor and I used it with blades also from Muhle.

Unfortunately, the handle didn't suit me at all. It slips, especially if the hand is wet or has even a little lather. I had to sand it down to roughen it up and make it fit my needs.

In terms of performance, it's average. After two passes, it hadn't completely taken off a day's growth of hair. A close shave, especially BBS, is difficult with this razor. For its price, I was somewhat disappointed, but at least it didn't cause me many irritations. 5.5/10

Excellent shaver, very mild. No problems shaving the head. Highly recommended, now every shaving experience is just a breeze.

As a newcomer to DE shaving, I started with this razor about a year ago. I never had any issues with it. Shaving every day or every 2 days was smooth. Any nicks I got were my own fault. Shaving with this razor teaches you more and your hand moves on its own.

Very good product, to be more specific on the issue with irritations, I generally have a problem with my skin, so yes there are irritations 2-3 days after shaving but this is not a problem of the razor or the blade, on the contrary, it does the job it should perfectly, the only issue is how often the blade gets dull, beyond that, everything else depends on each individual's skin, many do not have my issues.

Just know what to expect, it won't give you a 10-day beard, but for everyday or day-to-day shaving, it's perfect, especially if combined with sharp blades. The very small blade gap helps beginners a lot because you have to be very careful to be able to cut yourself with this machine.

Machine caress with the appropriate soap. I tried it with Mitchell's Wool Fat and enjoyed it. Recommended for beginners and experienced individuals who shave daily.

I shave every day with two passes, have tough beard with tangled hair growth and very sensitive skin. The R89 was a revelation for my face, no burning, no redness, and no irritation with daily shaving using two passes regardless of the blade brand.

Excellent machine, very good build quality. After 2 years of use, I replaced the handle with a yaqi, the machine went from 73g to 92g with the handle change, resulting in a much better weight for shaving, which translates to better performance and a very nice appearance. Also, with a sharp blade, it provides a close shave.

Closed comb and ideal choice for daily shaving but also for those who are new to traditional shaving. Very nice finish with chrome coating, carved handle so it doesn't slip in your hand and sturdy construction. You feel safe with it, that it protects you from mishaps and when the time comes to learn it by developing your technique (this takes about a hundred shaves) you will get the perfect shave (yes, even b.b.s.) in minimal time. But the secret of this machine is that it must just touch and pass over the skin with minimal to no pressure. Combine it with a sharp blade e.g. Feather, Bic, Nacet, Permasharp and enjoy traditional shaving. The price in relation to the quality of construction is excellent. In addition, you can change the head by converting it to R41.

I have had the machine for 2 weeks now and I am completely satisfied as it is worth its money. The Muhle R89, being a closed comb razor, is suitable for both daily shaving or every 2-3 days. If it is more than that, then the Muhle R41, which is an open comb razor and cuts deeper into larger beards, is more suitable. I combine it with a Feather blade, which is if not the sharpest blade, one of the sharpest, so it works perfectly.

I use it daily with ASTRA blades and I am completely satisfied. I highly recommend it for frequent shaving. I do two passes, one regular and one against the grain.

It comes with its own blade, but in combination with Astra blades, especially for a beginner, it is great.

Generally, machines of this type do not require "pressure" on the skin to shave. Let the machine glide on its own and you will see immediate results, without cuts.
