We bought the DHP484RTJ package (2 batteries 5Ah + charger + case) for my best man. Initially, I will provide some information that we struggled to find when we were looking for what to buy, in case it helps someone.
- The tool is made in Romania. The batteries are made in Vietnam and the charger is made in China.
- Makita sources batteries (internal components) from Sony.
- The tool weighs 1250gr on its own. A 3Ah battery weighs 608gr and a 5Ah battery weighs 632gr.
- The chuck and gears are metal, and the gear housing is made of aluminum. The chuck coating is hard plastic.
- It does not have a magnet to hold the bits (bit holder).
- The batteries are from the new series, with charge indication.
As for the review, compared to my other two rechargeable ones (Dewalt DCD796 70Nm, 2000rpm, Einhell TC-CD 40Nm, 1250rpm) and a Black & Decker 710W 2800rpm:
Power: Very powerful. I tested up to 10mm on concrete. It drills through easily. Occasionally, the drill got stuck and stopped on its own! Much more powerful than the Einhell, but not as powerful as the Dewalt. In screwing, you don't notice a difference, although I didn't test it on something hard. But in drilling (especially concrete), you can tell the difference compared to the 1250rpm Einhell. The 2000rpm is a big advantage. It drills through the wall like the Black & Decker (just like the Dewalt).
Impact: Very good. No comparison to the Einhell, but not as good as the Dewalt.
Quality-Ergonomics: Very good plastics, quality construction that reflects the money you paid. Very good ergonomics and good balance. Very lightweight, feels like a heavy screwdriver. I had the impression that the 3Ah or 5Ah would make a big difference in weight compared to the 2Ah. But in the end, the difference is small (I'm comparing it to the Dewalt 2Ah). The short chuck is a big advantage. All the weight falls vertically on the arm of the hand. It doesn't strain your wrist forward. The Dewalt, on the other hand, has a heavier chuck and after a long time of use, it might tire you more. I say "might" because it never tired me (of course, we're talking about small differences that I wouldn't notice if I didn't have both drills side by side).
Drill accuracy: Incredible accuracy. It screws and nails perfectly. Slightly better than the accuracy of the Dewalt and infinitely better than the Einhell.
Chuck: Metal with a hard plastic coating. It has a very small play, like all impact drills. Same play as the Dewalt, while the Einhell has a larger one. You don't notice it at all in drilling. You notice it slightly in screwing.
Brake: Soft, but it stops immediately.
Noise: Very quiet. Its motor is very silent, it doesn't give you the feeling that it can produce 54Nm (I say it as an advantage).
Batteries: I can't estimate how long they last because my best man doesn't use it much. Otherwise, they seem good. They have a 4-line charge indicator. They fit perfectly on the tool (on the Dewalt, they have a slight play).
Charger: I think it's the best on the market. The five-amp charges in 45 minutes! It also has a fan. It's a bit large in size, but it's worth it (considering the speed). A five-amp on the fast charger that came with the Dewalt takes an hour and a quarter, while if you happen to get the regular one, it takes two and a half hours!
Light: Dual LED, very bright light. With a 10-second delay in turning off.
Case: Hard, but made of thin and inflexible plastic (I mention it as a disadvantage because it gives you the impression that it is fragile). It fits everything you want, but the tools and batteries dance around as they are not held in place from the top. If they were held, nothing would fit. That's why the handle is on the top, meaning the suitcase is carried horizontally, not practical at all. It depends on what each person wants.
Magnet for bits: IT DOES NOT HAVE ONE! When all the drills/drivers have it and they don't include it, it gives you the impression that they forgot it. And unfortunately, it's not easy to find one to put in. Only on eBay and it costs.
Durability: Unknown. It hasn't been used.
Final opinion: The tool is very good. One of the best in terms of power-to-size ratio. Perfect in ergonomics. The case fits everything. If someone has batteries and a charger from other Makita tools, then I highly recommend it. Otherwise, I don't see a reason to get this instead of the Dewalt, except for durability (which I have no opinion on), faster charging, and the fact that Makita has a much wider variety of 18V tools. Αγοράσαμε το πακέτο DHP484RTJ (2 μπαταρίες 5Ah + φορτιστής + θήκη) για τον κουμπάρο μου. Αρχικά παραθέτω κάποιες πληροφορίες που δυσκολευτήκαμε να βρούμε όταν ψάχναμε τι να πάρουμε, σε περίπτωση που κάποιον βοηθήσουν.
- Το εργαλείο είναι made in Romania. Οι μπαταρίες είναι made in Vietnam και ο φορτιστής made in China.
- Η Makita προμηθεύεται μπαταρίες (τα εσωτερικά στοιχεία) από τη Sony.
- Το εργαλείο ζυγίζει 1250gr μόνο του. Μια μπαταρία 3Ah ζυγίζει 608gr και μια μπαταρία 5Ah ζυγίζει 632gr.
- Το τσοκ και τα γρανάζια είναι μεταλλικά και το κέλυφος (gear housing) από αλουμίνιο. Η επένδυση του τσοκ είναι σκληρό πλαστικό.
- Δεν έχει μαγνήτη για να κρατάς τις μύτες (bit holder).
- Οι μπαταρίες είναι από την καινούρια σειρά, με ένδειξη φόρτισης.
Σαν κριτική τώρα, σε σχέση με άλλα δυο επαναφορτιζόμενα δικά μου (Dewalt DCD796 70Nm, 2000rpm, Einhell TC-CD 40Nm, 1250rpm) και ένα ρεύματος Black & Decker 710W 2800rpm:
Δϋναμη: Πολύ δυνατό. Δοκίμασα μέχρι 10mm σε μπετό. Την ανοίγει άνετα. Κάπου κάπου κόλλησε το τρυπάνι και έκοψε αμέσως μόνο του! Πολύ πιο δυνατό από το Einhell αλλά δεν έχει τη δύναμη του Dewalt. Στο βίδωμα δεν καταλαβαίνεις διαφορά, αν και δεν το δοκίμασα σε κάτι σκληρό. Στο τρύπημα όμως (και ειδικά μπετό) καταλαβαίνεις τη διαφορά σε σχέση με το Eihnell των 1250rpm. Μεγάλη υπόθεση οι 2000rpm. Τον τοίχο τον τρυπάει σαν το black & decker (όπως και το Dewalt).
Κρούση: Πολύ καλή. Καμιά σχέση με του Einhell, όχι όμως σαν του Dewalt.
Ποιότητα-Εργονομία: Πολύ καλά πλαστικά, ποιοτική κατασκευή που αντικατοπτρίζει τα λεφτά που έδωσες. Πολύ καλή εργονομία και καλό ζύγισμα. Πολύ ελαφρύ, το νιώθεις σαν ένα κατσαβίδι βαρύ. Είχα την εντύπωση ότι οι 3Ah ή 5Ah θα έκαναν μεγάλη διαφορά στο βάρος σε σχέση με τις 2Ah. Αλλά τελικά, μικρή η διαφορά (συγκρίνω με το dewalt 2Ah). Μεγάλο πλεονέκτημα το κοντό τσοκ. Όλο το βάρος πέφτει κάθετα πάνω στο βραχίονα του χεριού. Δε σου τραβάει τον καρπό μπροστά. Το dewalt αντιθέτως έχει πιο βαρύ τσοκ και μετά από πολύ ώρα χρήσης ίσως σε κουράσει περισσότερο. Λέω ίσως γιατί ποτέ δε με κούρασε (μιλάμε βέβαια για μικρές διαφορές που αν δεν είχα και τα δυο τρυπάνια δίπλα-δίπλα δε θα τις καταλάβαινα καν).
Ακρίβεια σκανδάλης: Απίστευτη ακρίβεια. Βιδώνεις και καρφίτσες. Ελάχιστα καλύτερη από την ακρίβεια που έχει το dewalt και απείρως καλύτερη από του Einhell.
Τσοκ: Μεταλλικό με σκληρή πλαστική επένδυση. Έχει έναν πολύ μικρό τζόγο, όπως όλα τα κρουστικά. Ίδιο τζόγο με του dewalt, ενώ το Eihnell έχει μεγαλύτερο. Στο τρύπημα δεν το καταλαβαίνεις καθόλου. Στο βίδωμα το καταλαβαίνεις ελάχιστα.
Φρένο: Μαλακό, αλλά κοκκαλώνει αμέσως.
Θόρυβος: Πολύ αθόρυβο. Το μοτέρ του είναι πολύ ήσυχο, δε σου δίνει την αίσθηση ότι μπορεί να βγάλει 54Nm (το λέω ως πλεονέκτημα).
Μπαταρίες: Δε μπορώ να εκτιμήσω πόσο κρατάνε γιατί ο κουμπάρος δεν το δουλεύει και πολύ. Κατά τ’ άλλα καλές φαίνονται. Έχουν ένδειξη φόρτισης 4 γραμμές. Εφαρμόζουν τέλεια πάνω στο εργαλείο (του dewalt έχουν ένα μικρό παίξιμο).
Φορτιστής: Νομίζω ο καλύτερος στην αγορά. Η πεντάρα φορτίζει σε 45 λεπτά! Έχει και ανεμιστήρα. Λίγο μεγάλος σε μέγεθος, αλλά αξίζει (αν σκεφτείς την ταχύτητα). Μια πεντάρα στον ταχυφορτιστή που είχε το dewalt θέλει μια ώρα και έαν τέταρτο, ενώ αν τύχεις να πάρεις τον απλό, θέλει δυομισι ώρες!
Φως: Διπλό led, πολύ δυνατό φως. Με καθυστέρηση σβησίματος 10 δευτερόλεπτα.
Θήκη: Σκληρή, αλλά από λεπτό και δύσκαμπτο πλαστικό (το λέω ως μειονέκτημα γιατί σου δίνει την εντύπωση ότι είναι εύθραυστη). Χωράει μέσα ό,τι θες, αλλά τα εργαλεία και οι μπαταρίες χορεύουν, καθώς δεν πιάνονται από την πάνω πλευρά. Αν πιάνονταν βέβαια, δε θα χώραγε τίποτα. Αυτός είναι και ο λόγος που το χερούλι το έχει στο πάνω μέρος, δηλαδή η βαλίτσα μεταφέρεται σε οριζόντια θέση, καθόλου πρακτικό. Είναι ανάλογα τι θέλει ο καθένας.
Μαγνήτης για τις μύτες (bit holder): ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙ! Όταν όλα τα δραπανοκατσάβιδα έχουν και αυτοί δε βάζουν, σου δίνουν την εντύπωση ότι το ξέχασαν. Και δυστυχώς δε βρίσκεις εύκολα να βάλεις. Μόνο από ebay και κοστίζει.
Αντοχή: Άγνωστη. Δεν έχει δουλευτεί.
Τελική άποψη: Το εργαλείο είναι πολύ καλό. Από τα καλύτερα σε λόγο δύναμης προς διαστάσεις. Τέλειο σε εργονομία. Η θήκη-ψαροκασέλα χωράει τα πάντα. Αν έχει κάποιος μπαταρίες και φορτιστή από άλλα Makita, τότε το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα. Αλλιώς όμως, δε βλέπω το λόγο να πάρει αυτό αντί για το dewalt, εκτός από την αντοχή (για την οποία δεν έχω άποψη), πιο γρήγορη φόρτιση και το γεγονός ότι η Makita έχει πολύ μεγαλύτερη ποικιλία σε εργαλεία 18V.
