This volume gathers studies on our obscene and vulgar erotic folklore, both in terms of sayings and expressions and in terms of erotic folk performances and their respective representations.

With the use of rich literature on the subject from both Greek and primarily foreign sources, observations and approaches are made, so that the scientific study of these topics can begin in Greek folklore literature, which so far has been characterized by a relatively prudish silence, with few but significant exceptions.

This small volume aims, therefore, at the substantial commencement of the relevant scientific dialogue within the ever-developing field of our new Greek folklore, which is now time to engage with the multifaceted erotic folklore of our people.
