The absence of a manual or other monograph on the issue of Financial Management of Health Units is the main reason that necessitated the writing and publication of this book.

It is indeed astounding that in a country where the public health system prevails and hospitals play a key role, no serious effort has been made until today to develop a comprehensive scientific guide for the financial support of the sector.

In this sense, this volume is the first book of its kind published in Greece. The book is designed to contribute to the economic analysis of health systems and primarily to the financial management of health services, with an emphasis on hospitals.
