This book by Professor Milan Ristovic addresses a dramatic and controversial episode of the Greek Civil War, specifically the transfer of children from war zones to neighboring People's Republics, particularly to Yugoslavia.

The Right referred to this event as "Child Gathering," while the Left called it "Salvation," which was done for humanitarian reasons in order to save the children from the "barbarism of monarcho-fascism." Of course, as usual, neither is entirely accurate.

This book meticulously tracks the journey the children took from war zones to the cities of Yugoslavia. The country accepted around 11,000 children, while approximately 14,000 were transferred through Yugoslavia to other Eastern Countries. Of course, the Slavic-speaking children remained within Yugoslav territory.
