The journey of migratory birds is an annual movement from one place to another, covering thousands of kilometers. By following it, we participate in events connected to the changing of the seasons, which the birds mark with extraordinarily spectacular rituals.
Greece and other Mediterranean countries are the favorite destinations of storks, swallows, and other migratory birds. However, it is not enough to engage with them in Greece or Europe, as the flight of storks and many other migratory birds takes them much further, to Africa, where many die poisoned after eating locusts that are also poisoned.
This teaches us that conservation policies must be coordinated internationally, because the homeland of migratory birds is the entire world.
